September 25, 2026 | PPSK Alabel conducted its 9th Regular Meeting for Calendar Year 2026 on September 25, where various matters were discussed, including the results and recommendations from the SK GEMS Evaluation held on September 18, updates on Annual Budgets and compliance with mandatory SK reports, the remittance of SK annual dues, and preparations for an upcoming outreach program.

The council also acted on several measures, including resolutions recognizing and commending Alabelian youth who emerged as champions during the Buwan ng Kabataang Sarangan held on August 30 at Ladol Beach Resort. Recognition was likewise given to SK Units for their support and active participation in the recently concluded Kasadyaan Festival.

Furthermore, the council approved a resolution enjoining all Sangguniang Kabataan Units to support School Safety and Security Inspections in the Municipality of Alabel, emphasizing the importance of promoting safe, secure, and youth-friendly learning environments for students and young people in the community.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Alabel actively participated in the Re-Orientation on Strengthening the Capacity of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), a two-day capacity-building activity held on September 24-25, 2026 at Venue 88, Mabuhay, General Santos City.

The activity brought together representatives from the 14 Sangguniang Barangays of Alabel, strengthening their knowledge, coordination, and commitment toward building a safer and more supportive environment for every child.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Mahintana Foundation through Mr Mark Gonzales, Save the Children through Ms Eliza Sheridan, in coordination with Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Marife Tenorio-Cuizon, MPA.

The Local Government Unit of Alabel through the Local Chief Executive, Hon. Lilibeth Salarda, MPA, also expressed her full support for this important initiative, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration in advancing the welfare and protection of children in the municipality.

September 17, 2026 | The Sangguniang Kabataan Units of Alabel underwent an evaluation for the Governance Exemplars for Meaningful Service (GEMS) for Sangguniang Kabataan, recognizing their commitment to effective governance, meaningful youth participation, and impactful service to their communities.

The evaluation was facilitated by the Local Youth Development Office, through Alfie Agang, LPT, together with the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Marife Tenorio-Cuizon, MPA.

This initiative is made even more meaningful through the continued support and guidance of our Local Chief Executive, Hon. The Sangguniang Kabataan Units of Barangay Bagacay, Ladol, and Alegria proudly joined Youthlead Philippines (YLP) in the 13th Philippines I Transform! Leadersโ€™ Convention (PITLC) held from September 3โ€“8, 2026 at Teacherโ€™s Camp, Baguio City.

With the theme, โ€œCombating Poverty, Achieving Prosperity for All,โ€ the convention brought together young leaders committed to strengthening youth participation and advancing meaningful action toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The annual gathering aims to influence and empower leaders to think, work, and act together, while encouraging them to become active stakeholders in the advocacy and localization of the SDGs in their communities.

For the SK Chairpersons of Alabel, this experience is more than a conventionโ€”it is an opportunity to learn, connect, collaborate, and bring home ideas that can create meaningful impact for the youth and the community of Alabel.
