𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro has recently issued Executive Order No. 2026-0031, officially lifting the implementation of the four-day compressed work week in the Local Government Unit of Alangalang and restoring the regular five-day work schedule effective June 1, 2025.

The temporary compressed work arrangement was previously adopted as a response to the energy crisis, aimed at reducing electricity consumption and fuel expenses while ensuring the continued delivery of essential government services. Similar measures were implemented by several local government units and government offices across the country during periods of heightened energy and fuel concerns.

With the issuance of the new executive order, offices will resume their normal Monday-to-Friday operations, signaling the LGU’s return to regular government services as energy conditions stabilize.

Mayor Lovely led the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony highlighted by the formal conferment of the 2026 PHALGA Excellence Award from the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants to the LGU Alangalang.

The award recognizes LGU Alangalang as a recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for CY 2024, honoring the municipality’s outstanding transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service, as well as its unwavering commitment to good governance and the welfare of its constituents. Carrying the inspiring message to “Lead with Integrity, Grow in Service, and Excel in Governance,” the recognition reflects the collective dedication of the local government workforce in delivering quality public service.

The recognition was presented by Municipal Accountant Ma’am Arnelia Cariñaga, who personally received the award during the Association’s National Convention held in Dapitan City, and officially turned over the same to Mayor Lovely during the ceremony.

The program also included the reporting and office updates delivered by OIC Budget Officer Jhanela B. Yu, keeping employees informed on ongoing programs and developments within the local government.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Mr. Ericson Feliciano Alarcon, OIC Administrator of the Philippine Red Cross Leyte Chapter, together with Mr. Ayle Drake Tucjay paid a courtesy call to Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro yesterday at the Office of the Municipal Mayor. During the visit, Mayor Yu-Castro personally handed over a cheque worth Php 100,000.00 in support of the agency’s “Dugo para ha Bungto” Program.

The financial assistance will help sponsor mass blood drives and support the Red Cross’ processing and operational fees. Through this initiative, safe and accessible blood supplies are brought closer to Alangalang, ensuring blood emergency needs are addressed promptly and efficiently for the benefit of the whole community.
