START OF THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON

Ahead of the possible onset of the rainy season, the DOST-PAGASA officially announces the start of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat over the Philippines, which is one of the precursors of the onset of the rainy season.

As Habagat becomes the dominant weather system, occasional to frequent rains and thunderstorms are expected, particularly over the western sections of the country. These conditions may signal the possible onset of the rainy season in the coming days.

However, there may be rain breaks that last a few days or weeks, known as monsoon breaks.

​Sa gihimong pagsusi, nakit-an nga ang maong agila nakasinati og stress ug sa pagkakaron dili pa makalupad human kini aksidenteng nalit-agan sa bitik nga alang unta sa manok ihalas. Aron masiguro ang iyang kaluwasan, ang LGU nagpahigayon og on-site monitoring pinaagi sa pakig-alayon sa mga lumulupyo sa dapit aron ma-obserbahan ang iyang pag-ayo.
​Ang maong wildlife magpabilin ubos sa pag-atiman hangtod nga mabalik ang iyang saktong kusog. Sa higayon nga kini makita nga baskog ug andam na, kini gilayon nga i-release og balik sa iyang natural nga puy-anan.

Gi-awhag namo ang publiko nga padayong i-report ang mga susama niini nga hitabo aron mapanalipdan ang mabulukong biodiversity sa atong lungsod.

📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Effective May 18, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Albuera shall resume the regular five-day workweek schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, pursuant to Administrative Order No. 4, Series of 2026, issued by Mayor Rolan E. Espinosa.

The public is advised accordingly.

𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐆𝐘𝐌𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐔𝐌 — To ensure a productive planting season, the Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMA) officially rolled out the Batch 1 distribution of certified in**ed rice seeds (Rc216 & Rc222) to registered farmers from various barangays today, May 14, 2026.

This allocation from the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office VIII (DA-RFO VIII) Rice Program is specifically aimed at supporting our local rice farmers for the upcoming wet season cropping. Through this timely distribution of high-quality inputs, LGU-Albuera continues its commitment to securing food sustainability and boosting the yields of our local agricultural sector.

𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐆𝐘𝐌𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐔𝐌 - In accordance with MC No. 18, s. 2026, LGU-Albuera, through the Office of the Municipal Agriculture, successfully assisted in the caravan-type payout of the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) today, May 12, 2026.

Approximately 760 eligible beneficiaries across the municipality received cash assistance to mitigate the impact of global market disruptions. This initiative, made possible through the support of DA-RFO VIII, underscores our commitment to strengthening the resilience and livelihood of our local food producers.
