The third day of the Municipal Youth Leadership Training (MYLT) program was an unforgettable experience, thanks to Dr. Domingo L. Laud's inspiring keynote speech on integrity. His words resonated deeply with all of us, and we're still reflecting on the valuable lessons we learned.

Dr. Laud shared with us the importance of integrity, which he broke down into three essential elements: honesty, soundness, and unity. He emphasized that honesty is the foundation of trust and credibility, and that it's not just a virtue, but a fundamental principle that guides our actions and decisions.

We all know that living with integrity isn't always easy, especially in today's fast-paced world. But Dr. Laud reminded us that it's worth fighting for. When we prioritize integrity, we're not just building trust with others, we're also becoming the best version of ourselves.

The three elements of integrity— honesty, soundness, and unity, are interconnected and essential for living a life of purpose and meaning. By embracing these values, we can create a more positive and supportive community that inspires others to do the same.

Dr. Laud's speech was a timely reminder of the importance of integrity in our personal and professional lives. As young leaders, we're constantly faced with choices that can either build or undermine our integrity. Let's strive to embody the three elements of integrity and make a positive impact in the world.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐌𝐘𝐋𝐓) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 was truly a day filled with wisdom, inspiration, and meaningful engagement. The event brought together student leaders from different schools, all participating actively in every session and activity prepared for the day. Each discussion aimed to strengthen their leadership potential and instill in them the values of integrity, service, and ethical action.

We express our deepest gratitude to our distinguished speakers who shared their knowledge and experiences with our youth leaders. Our first speaker for the morning session, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐁. 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚, delivered an inspiring talk on “𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫.” She reminded everyone that true leadership is not about authority, but about being a model of integrity, consistency, and good values through actions.

Following her was 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐏. 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐚, 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚, who discussed “𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫.” His talk emphasized the importance of being responsible, respectful, and ethical in the digital space — highlighting that leadership also extends to how we conduct ourselves online.

In the afternoon session, we had 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐏. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐇𝐒, who discussed “𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞.” He encouraged everyone to live with purpose and compassion — showing that by serving others with sincerity, leaders can create lasting and positive change within their communities.

Lastly, our gratitude goes to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛 𝐕. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, who delivered a powerful talk on “𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞.” He reminded our youth leaders that courageous leadership means standing for what is right, even when it’s difficult — inspiring others to follow with confidence and conviction.

The first day of the 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 began with the singing of the National Anthem, a solemn prayer, and uplifting hymns that set the tone for an inspiring and purposeful event.

We were also energized by a Unity Dance led by the 𝐂𝐏𝐏𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐒𝐒𝐋𝐆, bringing everyone together in the spirit of teamwork and solidarity.

We were privileged to learn from our distinguished speakers who shared their knowledge and insights about ethical leadership. 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐆. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨, Teacher III from Don Ramon E. Costales Memorial NHS, opened the discussions with his talk on “Understanding Ethical Leadership in Youth,” emphasizing the values that guide young leaders toward integrity and service. In the afternoon, 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦, Teacher III from Manaoag NHS, inspired everyone with her session on “Modeling Integrity: Learning from Ethical Leaders in the World,” where she highlighted real-life examples of leadership grounded in honesty and empathy. Concluding the day, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐌. 𝐆𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐨, Teacher III from Sumabnit NHS, discussed “Project with Purpose: Designing Initiatives that Reflect Ethical Leadership,” encouraging youth leaders to create projects that truly make a difference.

It was a fun, meaningful, and enjoyable day filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration. Truly, what a 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 of 𝐌𝐘𝐋𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓!
