Isang makabuluhang araw para sa mga Sustainable Livelihood Assistance Associations (SLPA) sa ating bayan ang ginanap na awarding of grants nitong ika-26 ng Marso 2026.

Limang asosasyon (2nd batch) ang pormal na tumanggap ng tulong-pinansyal para sa kanilang Integrated Farming Project, na naglalayong palakasin ang produksyon sa agrikultura bilang pangmatagalang kabuhayan ng kanilang mga kasapi:

🔹 MPPSC Agriculture SLPA
🔹 GAC Overseas SLPA
🔹 Macayo Agri Farmers SLPA

Ang kabuuang halagang ipinagkaloob ay magsisilbing puhunan para sa pagpapaunlad ng kanilang integrated farming system, na inaasahang magbibigay ng dagdag kita at mas matatag na samahan para sa bawat miyembro.

In a proactive move to ensure the successful implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of Department of Social Welfare and Development - DSWD, a thorough validation of the target site was conducted at Barangay Vacante, Alcala, Pangasinan.
This activity was carried out with the coordination and assistance of the DSWD Field Office 1, ensuring that all technical standards and program requirements are met for potential beneficiaries.

The validation process was further strengthened by the presence of our Municipal Mayor, Atty. Manuel T. Collado, who highlighted the LGU Alcala's commitment to empowering community members through livelihood opportunities. Joining the inspection was the MSWD Officer, Evangeline del Castillo, who emphasized the importance of targeting the appropriate areas and beneficiaries to maximize the program's impact.

During the activity, the team assessed the suitability of the proposed sites for livelihood projects, considering factors such as accessibility, resource availability, and the community's readiness to participate. The collaborative effort aims to ensure that the SLP reaches those who are most in need, fostering local economic growth, skills development, and self-reliance among residents.

This validation marks a significant step toward providing sustainable economic opportunities in the municipality, reaffirming the joint commitment of the DSWD and the LGU Alcala to uplift the lives of our community members through meaningful and sustainable livelihood interventions.

📢LOOK | 1st Quarter Joint Meeting of LCPC & LCAT-VAWC

The Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC), held its 1st Quarter Joint Meeting, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen coordination in protecting children and addressing violence against women and children.

Discussions focused on updates, the anticipating 2026 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit, accomplishments, and strategies to ensure a safer, more responsive, and child-friendly community.

The Local Government Unit of Alcala, Pangasinan joins the nation in the observance of the 38th Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week.

Anchored on the theme: "Katawan ko, Karapatan ko: Edukasyon Tungo sa Malaya at Ligtas na Pagpapasya" this celebration highlights our shared responsibility to empower every young women with knowledge, confidence, and the freedom to make informed choices on their life and future.

We reaffirm our commitment to promote gender equality, protect the rights of every women, and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive community where they can thrive without fear, discrimination, or harm.

Together, let us stand in championing the dignity, rights, and potential of every young women - because empowering them means building a stronger and more equitable society for all.

Pinangunahan ng Municipal Operations Office at MSWDO Alcala, katuwang ang National Book Development Board - Philippines at Book Nook Alcala, layunin ng programa na palaguin ang pagmamahal ninyo sa pagbabasa at matuto sa pamamagitan ng mga aklat at kuwento.

Investing in ASRH helps adolescents stay healthy, continue their education, and achieve their full potential.

This year’s Girl Child Week 2026 highlights the importance of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)—a critical issue that directly impacts the health, safety, and future of young people.

ASRH equips adolescents with the knowledge, skills, and access to services they need to make safe, informed, and responsible decisions about their
bodies and relationships. It also plays a key role in preventing early pregnancy, reducing health risks, and protecting young people from abuse
and exploitation.

In the Philippines, gaps in knowledge and access to services continue to put adolescents at risk. Studies show that many young people still lack comprehensive, accurate information on sexual and reproductive health, limiting their ability to make informed choices.

Investing in ASRH means empowering young people to stay healthy, pursue their education, and reach their full potential.

Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Training was conducted by the Municipal Agriculturist Office of Alcala Pangasinan, represented by Mr. Jesus Reconzal and Engr. Nathaniel Nicomedez, with the participation of 7 Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs). The training is designed to help association members, especially new farmers, learn simple and practical ways of farming that are safe, efficient, and sustainable. It guides them in producing better-quality crops that are safe to eat and kind to the environment, while also helping them increase their harvest and improve their income.
