This yearโs Girl Child Week 2026 highlights the importance of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)โa critical issue that directly impacts the health, safety, and future of young people.
ASRH equips adolescents with the knowledge, skills, and access to services they need to make safe, informed, and responsible decisions about their
bodies and relationships. It also plays a key role in preventing early pregnancy, reducing health risks, and protecting young people from abuse
and exploitation.
In the Philippines, gaps in knowledge and access to services continue to put adolescents at risk. Studies show that many young people still lack comprehensive, accurate information on sexual and reproductive health, limiting their ability to make informed choices.
Investing in ASRH means empowering young people to stay healthy, pursue their education, and reach their full potential.
