The Alegria Rural Health Unit (RHU) successfully conducted the Community Walk Launching and HIV/AIDS Candlelighting Ceremony at the Alegria Municipal Lobby as part of the Municipalityโs continuing commitment to health promotion, wellness, and HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy.
The activity was attended by various community stakeholders, including Barangay Officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Womenโs Associations, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, Philippine Coast Guard and Maritime personnel, community volunteers, and other health advocates, demonstrating a united effort toward building a healthier and more informed community.
The Community Walk Launching promotes the importance of regular physical activity and encourages community members to adopt healthier lifestyles through walking and other wellness practices. It serves as a reminder that simple daily habits can contribute significantly to better health and overall well-being.
Following the community walk, participants gathered for the HIV/AIDS Candlelighting Ceremony, a meaningful tribute honoring individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. The ceremony highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, education, compassion, and support while advocating for the elimination of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.
Through this activity, RHU Alegria continues to strengthen community participation in health promotion, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and foster a community where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding.
๐ฏ๏ธ Together, we remember. Together, we advocate. Together, we walk toward a healthier, more compassionate, and stigma-free Alegria.
