LASNHS-Main bags 2nd runner-up overall champion in DSTF 2024

Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School Main proudly secured the title of 2nd runner-up overall champion at the recently concluded DSTF 2024, showcasing remarkable talent and teamwork today.

The school clinched several prestigious awards, including the championship in Math Invest Individual and Physical Team categories, along with commendable placements in various other competitions: 3rd in Innovation Individual and Team, 7th in Math Invest Team, 8th in Innovation Individual, and 3rd in both Creobotics and Quiz Bee.

Meanwhile, School Principal, Nimfa A. Alagao expressed her gratitude on social media, thanking the local government unit of Buguey, especially Mayor Cerry, for their financial support and prayers.

She also acknowledged the dedication of parents, stakeholders, and the PTA for their unwavering belief in the students' abilities.

Alagao encouraged the coaches and all participating teams to continue striving for excellence as they pave the way for Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School's transformation into the Licerio Antiporda Sr. School of Fishery.

Student Researchers from Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School Triumph at 13th Regional Congress in Malaysia

Student researchers from Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School - Main made their school and community proud by winning multiple awards at the prestigious 13th Regional Congress, Search for SEAMEO Young Scientist 2024, held from June 10-14, 2024, showcasing the innovative potential of young scientists across Southeast Asia.

The talented team secured a Silver Award for Commercial Potential, a Bronze Award for Application of STEM Concept, and another Bronze Award for Creativity/Innovation with their groundbreaking research project, TELESFEED, an innovative new type of feed for tilapia.

This impressive feat highlights the ingenuity and hard work of the students, as well as the invaluable support they received from their school and community.

Rofel P. Avilla, the team's dedicated coach, played a crucial role in guiding the students through their research journey.

However, the students and their coach are quick to attribute much of their success to the unwavering support of their school principal, Nimfa A. Alagao.

"The dedication and creativity of our students never cease to amaze me," Alagao said.

Alagao said that their success is a testament to their hard work and the collaborative spirit they foster at their school.

"I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved on this international stage." Alagao said.

Alagao also emphasized the importance of community and institutional support in reaching such heights.

"This accomplishment would not have been possible without the backing of our school community and the financial support from the Local Government Unit of Buguey," she stated.

"Our Local Chief Executive, Licerio Millare Antiporda III, has been instrumental in providing the necessary resources for our students to participate in this event. His commitment to education and youth development is truly commendable." She added.

The Local Government Unit of Buguey, under the leadership of Licerio Millare Antiporda III, provided significant financial support to ensure the students could attend the congress.

This backing underscores the local government's dedication to promoting education and nurturing the talents of young researchers in the region.

The TELESFEED project not only demonstrated the students' scientific acumen but also highlighted the practical and commercial potential of their innovation.

By developing a new type of feed for tilapia, the students addressed a critical need in aquaculture, showcasing the real-world applications of their STEM education.

Meanwhile, Education Program Supervisor in Science, Gerry C. Goze, showed his support for the team by sending them a congratulatory message and supporting them since the start of the research process.

As the students return home with their well-deserved accolades, their success serves as an inspiration to their peers and a reminder of the incredible potential that lies within the youth of Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School.

Goze advocates Technological Integration, ICD Principles in INSET 2024

Gerry C. Goze, PhD., a distinguished figure in education and the Education Program Supervisor of Science of Schools Division Office (SDO) of Cagayan, recently made a significant impact at the In-Service Training for teachers in Licerio Antiporda Se. National High School-Main in Centro, Buguey, Cagayan, January 24.

"We are now in the technological era, so we have to engage ourselves," he emphasized, acknowledging the current technological era and stressing the need for educators to actively engage with technological advancements.

Furthermore, he highlighted the critical importance of integrating technology into teaching and learning processes as well as instructional methods, signifying its profound impact on modern education.

In addition to his advocacy for technological integration, Dr. Goze also served as a resource speaker, delving into the significance of ICD principles in the Context of Teaching.

In a recent analysis conducted by the Rolling Waves, the Official School-Community Publication of Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School - Main, the pulse of student preparedness for the second day of examinations was measured, revealing intriguing insights into the diverse study habits prevalent among the student body.

According to the survey results compiled from 100 respondents, a majority of 65% are classified as well-prepared students. These individuals have demonstrated diligence, organization, and a consistent approach to their studies throughout the academic term.

Moderately-prepared students constitute 24% of the respondents, representing a segment that has invested effort into their studies but may not have maintained the same level of consistency as their well-prepared counterparts.

A notable 11% of respondents fall into the category of crammers, characterized by last-minute, intense study sessions just before the exam.
