The 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, under the 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗛𝗩𝗖𝗗𝗣), conducted a two-day 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗢𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗚𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻) on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬–𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗦𝘁𝗮. 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝗮, 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿. The activity was attended by 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗣. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼.

The training focused on strengthening farmers’ knowledge and skills in 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, and appropriate technologies for resilient vegetable farming. Participants took part in discussions, workshops, and practical activities covering vegetable production, climate-smart technologies, garden planning, and GAP assessment.

A highlight of the activity was the 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, giving farmers practical experience in applying climate-resilient production technologies. The training also included 𝗚𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, action planning, presentation of outputs, and distribution of certificates.

The activity was facilitated by 𝗝𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗦. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮 and 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗜. 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗼 from 𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜, with assistance from 𝗕𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦. 𝗡𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗮, Municipal High Value Crop Development Program Focal Person, and 𝗔𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗙. 𝗚𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁, Municipal Organic Agriculture Program Focal Person. Their collective efforts contributed to strengthening farmers’ capacity to adopt sustainable and climate-resilient vegetable production practices.

The 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 extends its appreciation to the participating farmers and the 𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 team for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the training. Likewise, the Office recognizes the continued support of the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, under the leadership of 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗮𝗻, in supporting initiatives that promote sustainable agriculture, strengthen farmers’ skills, and improve agricultural development in the municipality.

𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬

On August 17, 2026, the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 successfully hosted the training entitled 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, initiated by the 𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗙𝗢 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 through its SCALE UP Program in partnership with 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of local corn farmers by introducing improved production practices and technologies that can help increase productivity and farm profitability.

The training was facilitated by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝗮 𝗕. 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝘇, Component 3 Leader of SCALE UP, together with 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗷𝗼𝘀 𝗝𝗿., SCALE UP Field Staff, and 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴, Research Assistant of the Corn Program, DA RFO III. They were assisted by 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗿. and 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼. The activity formally opened with a welcome message from 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗣. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of continuous learning in improving agricultural production.

The participants gained valuable insights through a series of lectures delivered by 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗘. 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, Senior Territory Manager of Bayer Crop Science, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗗𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗴, Senior SRS and Component 4 Leader of SCALE UP, and 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼, Corn Technician, MAO. The discussions focused on improved corn production practices and practical approaches that farmers can apply to enhance crop performance and productivity.

Through the continued collaboration of 𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗙𝗢 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜, 𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗨𝗣, 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, with the full support of the 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗮𝗻, the municipality continues to empower farmers through knowledge, technology, and innovation toward a more productive and sustainable corn industry in Allen.

On 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 hosted the 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 for the implementation of the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦) 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 at the MAO Building, Sabang II, Allen, Northern Samar. The activity covered farmers from 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗜, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗜, who are all members of the 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in their respective areas. The project aims to strengthen 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 and promote 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀.

The project is being implemented by 𝗪𝗪𝗙-𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 in partnership with the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗡𝗚𝗖𝗣). The activity was spearheaded by WWF-Philippines and assisted by 𝗠𝗔𝗙𝗖 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗲𝗹 𝗟. 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗝𝗿. It formally started with a welcome message from 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗣. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼, followed by the orientation led by 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘆, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿; 𝗭𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿; 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗹𝗼. The activity was facilitated by 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗼-𝗼𝗻 and 𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, Community Coordinators.

Following the orientation, a 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 was conducted with all participating farmers to gather relevant information that will help guide the implementation and development of the project in their respective communities.

The 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 is being carried out with the 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗘. 𝗦𝘂𝗮𝗻. Through this partnership, the Municipal Agriculture Office continues to support initiatives that 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀’ 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀, and contribute to a more 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻.

𝐌𝐀𝐎 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬

As part of the continuing efforts of the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 to strengthen and sustain agricultural livelihood programs, monitoring activities were conducted this week in various barangays to assess the status, management, and progress of livestock and poultry projects. The monitoring was participated in by 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗧. 𝗢𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘇, 𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻, who assisted in assessing the implementation of the different livelihood projects.

At the 𝗝𝗮𝘆-𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝘆 & 𝗣𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 in 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸, monitoring covered both the poultry and piggery areas. The poultry project recorded 𝟭𝟯𝟮 𝗥𝗧𝗟, 𝟭𝟮𝟬 𝗲𝗴𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟵𝟭% 𝗲𝗴𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, while the piggery component currently has 𝟭 𝘀𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟰 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗴𝘀. These figures provide valuable insights into the current productivity and management of the farm.

Meanwhile, the 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 in 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀 was also monitored. The team likewise visited the 𝗦𝗟𝗣 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, where 𝟯 𝘀𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟲 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗴𝘀 were recorded. The 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 was also monitored, including an assessment of its poultry area.

Through regular monitoring, the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻, with the support of the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗮𝗻, continues to ensure that agricultural livelihood projects are properly managed and sustained. On August 12, 2026, the Municipal Agriculture Office – Allen conducted the distribution of fertilizers to registered rice farmers in the municipality. The farm inputs distributed included Ammonium Sulphate, Humi N+ Foliar Fertilizer, and Folimac (Complete) Foliar Fertilizer, which aim to support farmers in improving crop growth and rice productivity.

The activity started with an orientation from Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, who provided important reminders and guidance to the farmer-beneficiaries. The distribution was headed by Municipal Rice Focal Person Joemil Valencia, together with MAO Staff, who assisted in ensuring the orderly and efficient distribution of the farm inputs.

𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐆 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

On August 6–7, 2026, the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) – Allen welcomed representatives from MASIPAG and Naturland Philippines for a series of activities focused on promoting sustainable and agroecological farming practices in the municipality.

The activities were attended by Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado and Ana May F. Gubat, Municipal Organic Agriculture Focal Person, together with Mr. Brendan Paul Rosen of Naturland; Mr. Rodolfo Cortez Jr., National Organic Agriculture Board Representative, Mr. Kevin Bonganciso, Regional Coordinator for Visayas – MASIPAG, and Ms. Hannah Aranas, Local Coordinator for Leyte and Samar.

Also joining the activities were Farmer Trainers Mr. Jan Rowen Ruiz and Ms. Jocelyn Garcia, along with participating farmer representatives from the Frederick Farmers Association, Sitio Guinlamisahan Farmers Association of Brgy. Lipata, and Lagundi Farmers Association.

The two-day activity featured a Courtesy Call with the Municipal Mayor, represented by Ms. Liza Tepace, Private Secretary II, and Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, followed by a Diversified Integrated Farming System (DIFS) Training on inputting and farm planning. The activities also included field visits to DIFS farms and expansion trial farm sites in Brgy. Frederick, Brgy. Lipata (Sitio Guinlamisahan), and Brgy. Lagundi.

The initiative provided an avenue for knowledge-sharing and collaboration in advancing agroecological farming methods, organic agriculture, local seed systems, and community food security, while strengthening the capacity of local farmers and farmer organizations.

The Municipal Agriculture Office appreciates the continued collaboration with MASIPAG and the support of the Local Government Unit of Allen, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Katrina Mae Suan, in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and strengthening initiatives that benefit the municipality’s farming communities.

𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐈 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐄𝐥 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧

On August 4, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VIII, through Project SARAI CeNTRO Eastern Visayas, conducted an El Niño Historical Mapping Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Municipal Agriculture Office, ALTT Compound, Sabang Zone II, Allen, Northern Samar.

The activity was facilitated by Noel Delator, Emiel Discor, Cathy Abrantes, and Angel Marie B. Llaranes of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VIII. The discussion aimed to document the experiences, impacts, and adaptation strategies of local farmers in response to previous El Niño events. The information gathered will contribute to the development of localized decision-support tools that will help strengthen preparedness and resilience against future extreme El Niño phenomena.

The Focus Group Discussion was participated in by selected farmers from the Municipality of Allen, namely Nenita Banjawan, Cleto Pascual, Lauren Balderama, Natividad Estinopo, Norlyn Porio, and Araceli Resulta, who shared their valuable experiences, farming practices, and adaptive measures in managing the effects of drought on their agricultural production.

The Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VIII and Project SARAI CeNTRO Eastern Visayas for spearheading this important initiative. On July 28, 2026, the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) conducted a monitoring activity for the Duck Egg Enterprise under the PRDP I-REAP Recovery Project of the Frederick Farmers Association in Brgy. Frederick, Allen, Northern Samar.

The activity was led by Charlene M. Caparic, Agricultural Technologist and Project In-Charge, together with Jonathan R. Lonsania, Farm Worker II, to assess the implementation and current status of the project, monitor the condition of the facilities and beneficiaries, and provide technical recommendations to ensure the project’s continued success and sustainability.

The monitoring activity was assisted by Vicente D. Panis, Jr., Livestock Inspector of the Municipal Agriculture Office, who coordinated with the project beneficiaries and provided support during the field assessment.

This activity reflects the strong collaboration between the Provincial Government of Northern Samar – Provincial Agriculture Office (PGNS-PAO) and the Local Government Unit of Allen, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Katrina Mae Suan, through the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, in continuously supporting and strengthening agricultural livelihood projects for the benefit of Allen’s farming communities.

𝐌𝐀𝐎 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬

Last week, Abel T. Orroz, Municipal SAAD Focal Person, conducted monitoring activities in various barangays to assess the status of ongoing livestock and poultry projects, provide technical assistance, and ensure the proper implementation and sustainability of agricultural livelihood interventions.

In Brgy. Frederick, monitoring was conducted at the Jay-Ann Poultry & Piggery Farm under the KAYA Project, where the poultry component recorded 132 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens, 126 eggs harvested, and an impressive 95% egg production rate, reflecting excellent farm management practices.

Monitoring in Brgy. Imelda covered the Love Project Egg Layer Production, which currently maintains 21 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens. No eggs were harvested during the monitoring period, resulting in a 0% egg production rate due to a temporary three-day pause in egg production. The project will continue to be closely monitored to determine the cause and provide appropriate technical recommendations.

In Brgy. Lipata, monitoring was conducted for the SIGFA Broiler Production Project, where the newly constructed poultry housing was inspected and prepared for the arrival of 500 new broiler chicks. Monitoring was also carried out at the LFFAC Egg Layer Production Project under the DA-LGU Program, which recorded 192 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens, 132 eggs harvested, and a 70% egg production rate. The slight decrease in production will continue to be monitored to help improve flock performance.

Meanwhile, the Sabang II Rice Farmers Association (RIC) under the SAAD Egg Layer Production Project recorded 425 newly added ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens, bringing the total flock to 567 RTL chickens. The association harvested 502 eggs, achieving an 89% egg production rate, demonstrating effective poultry management and continued project growth.

In Brgy. Londres, monitoring was conducted for the SLP Baboyan Project under the DSWD, implemented by the Londres Farmers Association. The project currently maintains 3 sows and 16 piglets, with the livestock observed to be under proper care and management.

Through regular field monitoring and technical assistance, the Municipal Agriculture Office remains committed to strengthening livestock and poultry production, improving farm productivity, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of livelihood projects benefiting the farming communities of Allen.
