In this week, Abel T. Orroz, Municipal SAAD Focal Person, together with Mellmay Erador, MIS Support Staff, conducted monitoring and technical assistance activities for various poultry and livestock projects in the municipality.

In Brgy. Frederick, monitoring, poultry visits, and piggery visits were conducted at Jay-Ann Poultry & Piggery Farm under the ACPC Project. The poultry component recorded 132 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens with 103 eggs harvested, resulting in a 78% egg production rate. The piggery component recorded 1 sow and 12 piglets, with 1 mortality noted during the monitoring. The project continues to demonstrate good management practices.

Also in Brgy. Frederick, monitoring and duck visits were conducted for the Duck Production Project. Out of the 215 total heads received, 211 ducks were recorded as existing, with 4 mortality noted. The project continues to be properly managed by the beneficiary.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Imelda, monitoring and a poultry visit were conducted for the Egg Layer Production project. The project recorded 21 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens with 14 eggs harvested, resulting in a 67% egg production rate. The project continues to maintain good management practices.

Through regular monitoring and technical assistance, the Municipal Agriculture Office remains committed to supporting the sustainability and success of agricultural livelihood projects throughout the municipality.

Bahagi rin ng selebrasyon ang paggawad ng pagkilala sa mga natatanging kooperatiba, a*osasyon, at indibidwal na nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa komunidad sa pamamagitan ng kanilang sipag, dedikasyon, at tagumpay sa larangan ng agrikultura at pangisdaan.

On May 26, 2026, at 10:30 AM, the Municipal Agriculture Office โ€“ Allen will conduct the Grand Launching of Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita at the Diversion Road, ALTT Grounds, Sabang II, Allen, Northern Samar.

The Kadiwa serves as a direct market linkage between our local farmers and consumers, where fresh fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products will be made available at more affordable prices. By sourcing products directly from farmers, consumers are assured of fresh and quality produce while also helping increase the income and livelihood opportunities of our local agricultural producers.

Through this initiative, we continue to strengthen local food systems, support farmersโ€™ productivity, and promote accessible and affordable food for every Allenian family.

This activity forms part of the celebration of Buwan ng Magsasaka at Mangingisda 2026, honoring the invaluable contributions of our farmers and fisherfolk in ensuring food security and agricultural development in the municipality.

In this week, Abel T. Orroz, Municipal SAAD Focal Person, conducted continuous monitoring and technical assistance activities across different barangays to assess the status and productivity of livestock and poultry projects.

In Brgy. Lipata, monitoring was conducted for the INSPIRED Project under the Livestock Program of LFFAC. The project recorded 7 sows and 27 piglets, with 1 mortality noted during the visit. Technical assistance activities such as castration and administration of multivitamins were also provided to ensure the health and productivity of the animals. The project continues to demonstrate good management practices.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Sabang 2, monitoring and poultry visits were conducted for the RIC Egg Layer Production under the SAAD 2023 Project. The association recorded 580 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens with 514 eggs harvested, resulting in an impressive 89% egg production rate, reflecting very good management by the association.

In Brgy. Frederick, monitoring and poultry and piggery visits were conducted at Jay-Ann Poultry & Piggery Farm under the ACPC Project. The poultry component recorded 132 RTL chickens with 105 eggs harvested, resulting in an 80% egg production rate. The piggery component included 1 sow, 13 piglets, and 1 fattening hog, all maintained under good management practices.

Also in Brgy. Frederick, monitoring was conducted for the Duck Production project. The activity included housing and duck visits, where out of the 215 total ducks received, 213 existing ducks were recorded with 2 mortality, reflecting good management of the project.

Additionally, monitoring and poultry visits were conducted for the Egg Layer Production under the SAAD Project of LFFAC in Brgy. Lipata. The association recorded 192 existing RTL chickens with 143 eggs harvested, resulting in a 74% egg production rate, demonstrating continued good management practices.

Through regular field monitoring and technical assistance, the Municipal Agriculture Office remains committed to supporting sustainable agricultural livelihood projects and strengthening farmersโ€™ associations across the municipality.

On May 18โ€“19, 2026, the training entitled โ€œAgri-Entrepreneurship: Establishing and Sustaining a Profitable Farm Enterpriseโ€ was successfully conducted at the MAO Building, ALTT Grounds, Sabang II, Allen, Northern Samar, participated in by members of the Samahan ng mga OFW Para sa Agrikultura ng Allen (SOPAA).

The activity formally opened with a welcome message from Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, who encouraged the members of SOPAA to continue engaging in agriculture and maximize the opportunities provided through government programs and agricultural enterprise development initiatives.

The training was facilitated by Juhanah M. Maruhom, ABE, Associate Project Officer II/Provincial Coordinator of DA-SAAD Northern Samar. Valuable discussions and learning sessions were also delivered by resource speakers Rosell S. Vacunawa, Business Counselor from DTI Northern Samar, together with Naomi E. Ramirez, Jay-Ann G. Diaz, and Ana May F. Gubat from the Municipal Agriculture Office โ€“ Allen, who shared their expertise on agribusiness development, enterprise sustainability, and livelihood opportunities in agriculture.

The activity was assisted by MAO Staff headed by Municipal Agriculturist Judy P. Morado, ensuring the smooth conduct of the two-day training. Participants actively engaged in the discussions and activities designed to strengthen their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills in establishing and sustaining profitable farm enterprises.

Through initiatives like this, the Municipal Agriculture Office โ€“ Allen, in partnership with DA-SAAD Northern Samar and DTI Northern Samar, continues to empower local organizations and aspiring agripreneurs towards sustainable livelihood, economic resilience, and agricultural development in the municipality.

In Brgy. Lipata, monitoring and poultry visits were conducted for the LFFAC Egg Layer Production under the SAAD Project. The association recorded 192 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens with 141 eggs harvested, resulting in a 73% egg production rate, while maintaining good management practices.

Monitoring was also conducted for the INSPIRE Project under the Livestock Program of LFFAC. The project recorded 7 sows and 28 piglets. Technical interventions such as iron supplementation, multivitamins administration, and castration were provided to support animal health and productivity. The project continues to demonstrate good management.

In Brgy. Bonifacio, backyard raiser visits were conducted at the farm of Vilma Viva Mondigo. The monitoring recorded 2 sows with 10 piglets during one visit, where iron supplementation was administered, while another visit recorded 2 sows and 8 piglets with multivitamins provided to support the health of the animals.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Frederick, monitoring and piggery visits were conducted at Jay-Ann Piggery Farm under the ACPC Project. The project recorded 1 sow with 13 piglets, along with 4 fattening hogs during one visit and 3 fattening hogs during another monitoring activity. Iron supplementation was also administered, and the farm continues to demonstrate very good management practices.

In Brgy. Imelda, monitoring was conducted for the Love Project Egg Layer Production. The project recorded 21 RTL chickens with 1 mortality and 17 eggs harvested, resulting in an 80% egg production rate, reflecting good management.

Additionally, in Brgy. Sabang 2, monitoring and poultry visits were conducted for the RIC Egg Layer Production under the SAAD Project. The association recorded 587 RTL chickens with 514 eggs harvested, resulting in an impressive 88% egg production rate, demonstrating very good management and strong project performance.

Through regular monitoring and technical assistance, the Municipal Agriculture Office continues to strengthen agricultural livelihood projects and support sustainable farming practices within the municipality.
