As mandated by law and as part of our duty to the Market Vendors sector the LGU Aloran conducted a consultation with vendors at the New Public Market to assess the impact of the opening of the New Public Market and Bus Terminal on their businesses and daily sales.
This function is anchored on Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, particularly:
* Section 16 (General Welfare Clause) – empowers local government units to promote the general welfare and enhance the economic prosperity and social well-being of their constituents.
* Section 26 – requires local government units to conduct consultations with affected sectors before implementing projects or policies that may significantly impact the community.
* Section 34 – encourages the participation of people’s organizations, non-government organizations, and the private sector in local governance and development. This initiative together withoffice in charge of the Municipal Economic Enterprises the LGU aims to better understand the experiences, concerns, and recommendations of market vendors, ensuring that the local government can develop responsive programs and policies that support business growth, improve market operations, and strengthen the local economy.
The feedback gathered will serve as a basis for future improvements and programs that will further enhance the livelihood of our local entrepreneurs.
Together, we continue working toward a stronger local economy.
