🔥 Fire Safety Tip of the Day

🕯️🗑️ Dispose of Used Candles and Matches Properly

During All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, used candles, matches, and other hot materials can still start a fire if discarded carelessly.

✅ Make sure candles are completely extinguished before disposal.
✅ Allow melted wax, candle holders, and hot materials to cool before handling.
✅ Never throw glowing matches, candle wicks, or hot debris into trash bins.
✅ Keep used candles and matches away from dry leaves, grass, paper, and plastic waste.
✅ Dispose of candle remnants only in proper waste containers once they are completely cool.
✅ Before leaving the cemetery, check the area for any remaining flame, ember, or smoldering material.

In dry conditions, a small fire can grow rapidly when it reaches combustible vegetation or nearby structures. Immediate reporting helps emergency responders act sooner.

✅ Call Amlan Fire Station as soon as you discover a fire.
✅ State the exact location, barangay, and nearest recognizable landmark.
✅ Describe what is burning and mention any people in danger.
✅ Warn others nearby only when it is safe to do so.
✅ Keep a safe distance from flames, smoke, and electrical hazards.
✅ Keep access roads open for fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.
