The Local Government Unit of Amulung, under the leadership of Mayor Elpidio R. Rendon, successfully conducted a consultative meeting today, September 23, 2026, at the Executive Lounge, Municipal Hall.
The session commenced with a welcoming message from Tourism Focal Person Ms. Liza M. Abad, followed by an insightful presentation by Municipal Budget Officer Mr. Jennelson Gorospe regarding his research on the historic Ananud and Panyang Dance Rituals.
Enriching the discussion further, cultural researchers Mr. Harold Dela Cruz and Mr. Jay R Bayani took the floor to share their extensive studies and expertise on the nuances of the Ananud (traditional raft healing and thanksgiving ritual) and the Panyang (indigenous war and healing dance).
DepEd officials, school heads, and coordinators actively engaged in the dialogue, sharing their personal experiences, insights, and key recommendations.
This robust collaboration between our local government, dedicated cultural researchers, and educators ensures that our rich Itawit heritage is accurately honored, preserved, and celebrated for generations to come.
