OFFICIAL STATEMENT

22 May 2024 - The Department of Education (DepEd) mourns the passing of a Grade 5 learner in Alfonso, Cavite after an accident inside the school premises on Monday, May 20, 2024.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the victim. The concerned Schools Division Office has reached out to the family for necessary assistance during this time of grief.

Likewise, we are monitoring the status of the four other classmates involved in the said accident. School officials are already in coordination with the local government unit, for medical assistance and the conduct of psychological first aid to the affected learners.

Meanwhile, DepEd is also working with local authorities for the conduct of a thorough investigation on the incident.

Today marks the start of the month-long celebration of National Teachers' Day with the theme "Gurong Pilipino, Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino."

Today is National Heroes Day 🇵🇭

Ang pamunuan ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Bagong Nayon II ay kaisa ang buong bansa sa paggunita ng National Heroes day ngayong araw.

Pagpupugay sa mga bayaning lumaban at nagbuwis ng kanilang buhay upang matamo ang ating kalayaan.

Atin ding pagsaludo sa lahat ng makabagong bayani-mga atleta, OFW's, mga g**o, mga sundalo, mga pulis at mga medical frontliners na patuloy na lumalaban, nagbibingay dangal, sakripisyo at karangalan sa ating bansa.

Mabuhay po kayong lahat!
