James Gatlabayan is the CEO of Santiago Brewery and Malthouse and Mangosoft Apps, Inc. He is the youngest son of the incumbent Antipolo City Vice Mayor Josefina "Pining" Galang-Gatlabayan, and former Mayor/Congressman Angelito Cabaron Gatlabayan. He is also the godson of Maximo Leyva Gatlabayan, who served as 3-term Vice Mayor of Antipolo when it was still a municipality. Before joining politics, he also worked as Administrative Assistant of the Office of the Vice Mayor for 9 years where he gained first-hand experience in legislative work of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship from Thames International Business School (formerly known as the Entrepreneurs School of Asia), where he received the Novus Ordo Award, the highest honor given by the institution to a graduating student who best exemplifies the school's vision and demonstrates remarkable achievements. James began his professional career in industrial sales at his brother’s company, but later ventured out on his own to start Sky Eastern Marketing, where he further honed his skills in Sales and Trading. His passion for brewing beer led him to start Santiago Brewery & Malthouse, his own home brewery, in 2014. He also pioneered the commercial malting of grains used for brewing and founded the first and only commercial Malthouse in the Philippines. With the support of the DOST (Department of Science and Technology) Setup Program, James was able to establish a professionally-run commercial microbrewery in 2018.
