Gabii Sa Kabilin is a program from Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) that is yearly held in the Heritage Month of May to celebrate and pay homage towards the Culture and Heritage of the Cebuanos.
Since 2016, the Municipality of Argao gracefully adopted the program to commemorate and celebrate the rich Culture and Heritage of every Argaoanons while showcasing its Spanish Built Pueblo.
This year, Gabii sa Kabilin sa Argao 2023 - Launching Program through the Municipal Arts, Culture and Heritage Council MACHC - LGU Argao is back after its downfalls in the midst of pandemic.
It's a historical time of the year showcasing a night fun-filled with Cultural Activities brought to us by the younger Argaoanons.
More games and exciting prizes awaits for everybody too!
By and by, this program is a partnership and integration of the 9 Public Secondary High Schools in the Municipality. Hence, we will also be witnessing talents from the students in the various schools in our town!

LOOK| Argao Local Arts, Culture and Heritage Contextualization in the Education Sector.
The Municipal Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission through the efforts of Ms. Novem Lao (Heritage Officer In Charge) in its goal to contextualize the local arts, culture and heritage of the town; Argao visited the Public Secondary High Schools.
Among its goals and objectives is in order for the students and teachers to learn the Local Arts, Culture and Heritage of the Municipality where it can be integrated through their various subjects. Other than that, the office aims to revive the Free Pueblo tour for the Grade 10 students in each Public Secondary High Schools.
The program was participated by Hilario P. Davide Sr. National High School (HPDSNHS), Mandilikit National High School, Talaga National High School, Cansuje National High School, and Usmad National High School. While other publich High Schools that includes Argao NHS, Taloot Integrated School, Calagasan NHS, and Bulasa NHS were set to reschedule due to encountered discrepancies.
To complete the program, Hon. Atty. Herculene Raymund Rizon (SB Member),and Mr. Vip F. Semilla (Tourism Officer) graced the occasion to provide the Importance, Significance, and the Statement of purpose on how essential this program can be in learning the townโs culture as being integrated in the subject.
Most importantly, School heads such as; Mr. Crisente J. Piรฑol (HPDSNHS), Ms. Rolelie Sombilon (MNHS), Mrs. Rosemarie Gealon(TNHS), Mrs. Jesan Caminade( CNHS), and Mr. Cristino Carreon (UNHS) were also present to not just warmly welcome the guest and speakers but to fully support the cause of th program.
The Municipal Arts, Culture and Heritage Council MACHC - LGU Argao hopes to further the activity along with its proposed activity, projects, and contextualization in its curriculum.

The Municipal Arts, Culture and Heritage Council MACHC - LGU Argao (MACHC) held a meeting today October 14, 2023 - Saturday.
The meeting agenda includes the Accomplishment report for the Month of July- September,Revival of the Declaration of Argao as Heritage District, Gabii sa Kabilin sa Argao, and its Upcoming Activities.

ABOUT YESTERDAY | Cebu Homeschool Group experienced Argao!
About 22 kids and 23 parents were able to experience Cabeccera Tour yesterday October 9, 2023 - Monday. This was after the kids as young as 7 years old visited and interestingly listen to the history and the Local Arts, Culture and Heritage of the Municipality: Argao.
The group were also able to experience the Finger Drop Molding process of Tablea, see how the Municipalityโs Torta were deliciously baked, endure the intricate process of weaving hablon.
The tour was also headed and graced by its Heritage Officer In Charge, Novem Lao and one of its Heritage Interpreter volunteer, Aimie Rumaguera.
To conclude the tour, Lao eptessed her full debt of gratitude seeing kids who feels as invested as here with Culture and History! She even hopes to have these kids go back whenever sheโs already 53 while these kids aged about 23 or so. Jovially, Jodi- one of the kids with her pure and innocence personality expressed in the middle of the conclusion if โLaoโ would still gonna be alive when she is already 53 by the time that gives the entire tour a full taste flavor of fun and enjoyment!

MANILA, 9 OCTOBER 2023 โ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Board of Commissioners has issued a resolution correcting the date of birth of prominent Filipino painter Juan Luna.
According to NHCP Board Resolution No. 18, Series of 2023, the details of Lunaโs baptismal record in the Badoc Church, preserved in the ๐ท๐ช๐ด๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฐ (certificate of good moral character), obtained from the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), stated that Luna was three days old when he was baptized in 27 October 1857. During the conventions of the era, the day of birth was already regarded as the first day of birth of an individual. Based on the findings of the NHCP, Luna was born on 25 October 1857, as opposed to 23 or 24 October 1857.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through its administration of national shrines, museums, research and publication, heraldry works, conservation, and marking of historic sites and structures, including the resolution of historical issues and controversies.

LOOK| ACTIVITIES INCOMING!
The Heritage Officer In Charge, Novem Lao is in a meeting with Mr. Ruel J. Rigor today October 4, 2023 for the crafting of the Project Procurement Management Plan for the Year 2024.
The meeting is to make sure that the activities for the next year and succeeding months shall be in line with Cultural and Heritage Plan for the Municipality of Argao.
Other activities such as, Gabii Sa Kabilin and Subay Kaagi sa Argao 2023, Declaration of Argao as Heritage District, and the Amendment updating the Local Cultural Properties in the Municipality was mentioned along with the discussion.
With the strong support of the administration and as the new chapter for the MACHC started to kick-off, the office hopes to establish a stronger foundation for the Arts, Culture and Heritage of the Municipality of Argao in the next few months and years.

IN FRAME| PHITEX 2023 Philippine Travel Exchange, Tourism Sustainability in the era of Internet of Things visited in Argao for a Pueblo, Hablon, and Torta Tour.
Asec. Paul Uy, Tourism Promotion Board Directors, and Legal Team graced the endeavour while they were entertained by the Novem Lao, from the Heritage Office as their Local Tour Guide.
