The 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion, under the leadership of LTC JESUS L ROSETE INF (GSC) PA, joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines in commemorating the 36th AFP Code of Conduct Day, reaffirming its commitment to honor, integrity, professionalism, and ethical service.

During the ceremony, the Officers and Enlisted Personnel renewed their pledge to uphold the AFP Code of Conduct. The message of the Chief of Staff, AFP, GEN ANTONIO G NAFARRETE PA, was read by the Battalion Commander to the Mediator Troopers. The Battalion’s line companies simultaneously conducted the commemoration at their respective Company Command Posts.

Anchored on the powerful reminder, “A code has value only when it is lived,” the activity emphasized that the true measure of a soldier is reflected in how duties are performed, authority is exercised, decisions are made, and people are treated—especially when judgment and character are tested.

“Our capabilities may determine what we are able to do. Our character determines how we use them.”

For the Mediator Troopers, the Code of Conduct goes beyond an annual pledge. It is a standard to be lived in every duty, every operation, every decision, and every engagement with the communities we serve. Professionalism and ethical conduct remain integral to mission accomplishment and to sustaining the trust of the Filipino people.

As the Battalion continues its mission, the men and women of the 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion renew their resolve to serve with honor, lead with integrity, protect our communities, uphold peace, serve the people, and secure the land.

The Code is our standard. Character is our compass. Service is our commitment.

60IB Brings Mediator Thanksgiving to the Indigenous Communities of Sitio Mondol

SITIO MONDOL, GUPITAN, KAPALONG, DAVAO DEL NORTE — As part of its pre-anniversary activities commemorating four decades of service, the 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion brought its Mediator Thanksgiving Community Outreach to the Indigenous communities of Sitio Mondol on 03–04 October 2026, transforming gratitude into meaningful action for the people.

Anchored on the theme “Championing Sustained Peace, Service, and Excellence Through Shared Responsibility,” the two-day outreach reached approximately 500 families and over 1,000 individuals, particularly Lumad and Ata-Manobo families living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Through the Mediator KALINGA Program – “Serbisyong May Puso at Malasakit,” the activity provided food provisions, clothing, free haircuts, community feeding, medical checkups and consultations, medicines and vitamins, and activities and gifts for children. One large water storage container, made possible through the generosity of a valued stakeholder, was also turned over to help improve the community’s capacity to store clean water.

The outreach also featured the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP/PBRAP) in partnership with JCI Kadayawan and the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar, providing civil registration assistance to help undocumented residents secure their legal identity and essential documents.

Beyond the delivery of essential services, the activity celebrated the rich culture and traditions of the Indigenous Peoples through the sacred panubadtubad, traditional tribal dances, and a meaningful Tribe Night. Performances by the Mediator Band, together with LT MEDI, the Battalion’s official mascot, added warmth and joy to the celebration, bringing soldiers, partners, families, children, and tribal elders together in a shared spirit of thanksgiving, solidarity, and fellowship.

The undertaking was strengthened through the support and collaboration of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, headed by Governor Edwin I. Jubahib and Vice Governor Clarice T. Jubahib, through their representatives; and the Municipal Government of Kapalong, led by Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol, duly represented by Bae Gemma Raranggol, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative of Kapalong. Datu Bansing Balanban, Tribal Leader of Sitio Mondol, likewise joined the activity, reflecting the vital role of Indigenous leadership in strengthening community partnership and shared responsibility.

The medical mission was supported by the Camp General Manuel T. Yan Senior Station Hospital, 10th Infantry Division, through CPT Nicca Marie B. Basilio (MC) PA and LTC Beth M. Tacbi (NC) PA, Chief Nurse, together with the Municipal Health Office of Kapalong, bringing essential healthcare services closer to the community.

The Battalion likewise recognizes the invaluable support of JCI Kadayawan, represented by Noverlyn Guinita, 2027 President-Elect; Tommy Sinsano, President of Eagles Club ADNEC; Jonalyn Arias of Keyk Kyang; RM. Giovanie Camana of 97.5 Brigada News FM; and Alpebel Builders & Supply Corporation, headed by its President and CEO Alman Vincent S. Beldua Jr. Their generosity, resources, services, and shared commitment helped make the Mediator Thanksgiving meaningful for the families of Sitio Mondol.

Messages of solidarity from LTC JESUS L ROSETE INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion, together with provincial, municipal, and tribal leaders, reinforced a common message: lasting peace and sustainable development are built through shared commitment, collective action, and shared responsibility.

As the Mediators approach their 40th Founding Anniversary this December, the Battalion remains steadfast in its commitment to serve with heart, strengthen partnerships, and stand alongside the communities that have journeyed with the unit through the years.
