As part of the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month, the YES-O officers attended the CURMA, in partnership with the Bacnotan Local Government Unit (LGU), to enhance our knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness and emergency response.
The seminar discussed the five essential items in a Go Bag, medicine, water and food, shelter, fire, and an indicator/light source. We also learned how to make an alternative flotation device, perform Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and respond to Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) using proper techniques such as chest compressions, rescue breaths, back slaps, abdominal thrusts, and chest thrusts.
Through this seminar, we gained valuable knowledge that will help us become more prepared and capable of responding to emergencies. Together, let us continue promoting disaster preparedness and resilience in our school and community. ๐ฑ๐
