The Victorias City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) held the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Program Review and Workshop in Silay City, last November 16-17, 2024. The event aimed to strengthen leadership skills among PYAP leaders, encouraging them to become active agents of social change within their communities. Keynote speakers Dr. Richelle Mangga and Atty. Charles Mangga shared insights on Leadership and Community Organizing, while Ricky P. Lapidante Jr., RSW, with the guidance of City Social Welfare and Development Officer Ms. Joy S. Reunir, RSW, played a crucial role in organizing the event.
Participants were empowered to take on greater leadership roles, sharpen their decision-making abilities, and collaborate more effectively within their communities.

In partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office - Negros Occidental, the Provincial Youth Development Office, Sowing Legacy Movement Inc, and National Anti-Poverty Commission Youth and Student Sector (NAPC-YSS), brought together youth leaders from the Sanguniang Kabataan (SK), Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), schools, and youth-serving organizations for the Youth Unbound: Streamlining Anti-Poverty Agenda Across the Province forum.
Held last October 19, 2024 at Natureβs Village Resort, Talisay City, this event is part of the observance of the National Week of Overcoming Extreme Poverty from October 17-23 of the year.
Key learning sessions included discussions on the Magna Carta of the Poor, led by Atty. Charles Mangga, and a presentation on the Youth Code, developed by CYAN, as well as the Model SK, presented by CM Roy Javilla.
NAPC's OIC-Director Nolan Banda, from the Basic Sectors Coordinating and Advocacy Service, emphasized the vital role of the youth in overcoming poverty, further strengthening the NAPC-YSS's commitment to youth leadership in this advocacy.
This event played an important role ensuring that the youth and students of Negros Occidental could directly engage in meaningful discussions on local issues related to the priority agenda set by the NAPC-YSS.

SAN CARLOS CITY: PYDO-Designate Narciso Abad, III, RSW served as Resource Person in the conduct of revival program orientation of Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), Inc.-San Carlos City Chapter. The said activity was participated by the Punong Barangays, SK Chairpersons and officials. It aims to strengthen collaboration in the implementation of the DSWD's Unlad Kabataan Program.

πππ¦ππ’π§π¨π² is a program launched by the Youth Empowering Youth Initiative, Inc. (YEY!) in 2018 which aims to relive the affluence of the Philippine culture, heritage, and tradition. It also aims to uphold the Filipino identity among the younger generation: particularly the Negrosanon youth.

Five PYAP leaders are now joining the two-day βMen for Equality Campβ which was mainly funded by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office - Negros Occidental. This was facilitated by Sowing Legacy Movement, Inc., a member of the Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC), with Youth and Students Advancing Gender Equality (YSAGE), the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women-Asia Pacific (CATW-AP), and Men for Equality (MFE).
The campβs mission was to challenge traditional notions of masculinity and promote a progressive model that stands against the exploitation of women, children, and the environment. π

The province of Negros Occidental through the PYAP Negros Occidental honors the past and present pillars of the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines. PYAP was first incorporated on July 29, 1974, with the SEC under the name of Pag-Asa Youth Movement Inc. This year marks its 50th anniversary with the theme βGolden Milestone: Fostering Generational Youth-Led Initiatives for Inclusivity and Social Change.β
To celebrate the International Youth Day and the Linggo ng Kabataan, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office - Negros Occidental with the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) will host series of events for PYAP chapters and leaders across Negros Occidental.
