Bacolod is dreaming big for our local entrepreneurs!
The City Government of Bacolod, through D-LEDIP led by Dr. Mae Llamas and in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry Negros Occidental, successfully hosted MSME Ascend 2026 yesterday.
We didnโt just talkโwe listened. The event kicked off by tackling real-world challenges identified directly from MSME pre-surveys. To make sure every business got the right support, participants dove into specialized breakout sessions based on their current growth stage:
๐ฑ Foundational *
๐ Market-Ready *
๐ Export-Ready
Through these groups, our local entrepreneurs analyzed their specific bottlenecks and mapped out their immediate and long-term needs.
Dr. Mae Llamas engaged directly with the participants, reaffirming the strong commitment of the city government, under the leadership of Mayor Greg Gasataya, to prioritize these needs and turn feedback into action.
"MSMEs are the backbone of Bacolodโs economic success. For them to scale to the national and global stage, we have to prepare the path for them." > โ Dr. Mae Llamas, D-LEDIP Head
By interacting directly with our MSMEs, the city government can address actual, ground-level problems and design highly targeted programs.
Thank you to all the resilient entrepreneurs who participated! Ascending to new heights is no easy feat, but when we work together, we become stronger, better, and unstoppable. ๐ผโจ

PHINMA Properties officially launched a new era for Bacolod North with the May 8 groundbreaking of Maayo Terraces, a mid-rise community within the PHP 12 billion Saludad Township in Barangay Bata. This development is set to transform Bacolod North into a premier urban hub, blending residential and commercial spaces with vast greenery to promote a balanced, modern lifestyle.
Mayor Greg Gasataya and PHINMA leadership described the project as a major "vote of confidence" in the cityโs economic future. By driving infrastructure and job creation, Maayo Terraces embodies the cityโs belief that when the private sector succeeds, Bacolod succeeds.
The Dahlia Tower will be the first tower built at Maayo Terraces, which is designed as an 11-building mid-rise residential community with 2,922 units and more than 60% open space.
Raphael Felix, president and chief executive officer of PHINMA Properties Corp., said the project reflects the companyโs long-term confidence in the cityโs growth potential.
โBacolod North feels exciting because thereโs a direction of growth and potential. You can sense that this is where the cityโs next chapter is beginning to take shape,โ Felix said.
