This "𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔," with the theme “𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚,” we celebrate the richness of our shared past and recognize heritage as a vital foundation of identity, continuity, and nation-building. More than remembrance, it is a call to protect, preserve, and actively engage with the stories that shape who we are as Filipinos.

Through 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬, we take learning beyond the classroom, transforming streets, structures, and stories into living lessons that cultivate historical consciousness, civic pride, and cultural stewardship among the youth. Grounded in the principles of Republic Act No. 10066 (National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009) and supported by Presidential Proclamation No. 439 declaring May as National Heritage Month, this initiative demonstrates how local action contributes meaningfully to national development.

As the prime school in the Division of Bacolod City, Bacolod City National High School proudly stands as the pioneer of the Heritage Walk Program in the city, leading efforts to make heritage appreciation accessible, engaging, and transformative for learners and the community.

This 𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑳𝑫 𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑯 𝑫𝑨𝒀, the 3Zero Club–Bacolod City National High School Chapter reaffirms its commitment to protecting not only our environment but also the stories and spaces that define who we are.

Through 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻 (𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑰𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔) and our Heritage Walk initiative, we highlight the strong connection between environmental stewardship and cultural preservation. Our local heritage sites and cultural landscapes are living reminders that caring for the Earth goes beyond nature, it includes safeguarding our history, identity, and community spaces.

As we walk through heritage, we also walk with purpose, toward sustainability, climate action, and a future where both our environment and heritage are protected for generations to come.

Today, this commemoration is more important than ever. In a rapidly changing world driven by modernization, urbanization, and digital culture, many heritage sites, traditions, and stories are at risk of being forgotten or replaced. Preserving heritage is not about resisting progress, it is about ensuring that development remains rooted in history, culture, and community.

Here in Bacolod, our heritage is deeply woven into our identity, from the legacy of the sugar industry, to ancestral homes, historic schools, churches, and public spaces that reflect our journey through time. Every structure, every story, and every tradition contributes to the soul of the city we call home.

As we move forward, may we continue to protect, promote, and take pride in our heritage, not only for ourselves, but for the generations that will come after us.
