The Barangay Government of Villamonte is now accepting applications for the Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars Program for qualified and deserving college students.

This program aims to provide educational assistance to financially challenged students who are committed to completing their college education and becoming productive members of the community.

📌 Program Benefits:

✅ Educational Assistance of ₱20,000.00
✅ Support for tuition, school supplies, transportation, and other educational expenses
✅ Opportunity to become one of the Five (5) Presidential Scholars of Barangay Villamonte

📌 Basic Qualifications:

✔️ Bonafide resident of Barangay Villamonte
✔️ Incoming 4th Year College Student or graduating student
✔️ Currently enrolled in a recognized college, university, or TESDA-accredited institution
✔️ Belongs to a low-income or vulnerable household

📌 Selection Process:

Applicants will undergo documentary screening, evaluation, and interview by the Barangay Scholarship Screening Committee. Qualified applicants shall then proceed to a Final Qualifying Examination to be administered and supervised by an established scholastic institution within Bacolod City to ensure fairness, transparency, credibility, and impartiality in the selection process.

The final five (5) scholars shall be selected based on their overall performance in the screening process and the results of the qualifying examination.

📍SITE INSPECTION | PUROK SABES, BARANGAY VILLAMONTE

Kap Rommel Flores personally conducted a site inspection in Purok Sabes as part of the barangay's continuing efforts to ensure the safety, accessibility, and orderly use of public spaces.

During the inspection, concerns regarding the obstruction of sidewalks and public right-of-way were observed. In this regard, the Barangay Government of Villamonte issues a strict warning to all residents, business owners, and establishments to immediately remove any materials, structures, displays, vehicles, or other obstructions encroaching upon sidewalks and public pathways.

Sidewalks and public right-of-way are intended for the safe passage of pedestrians and the general public. Any unauthorized occupation or blockage of these areas poses safety risks and inconvenience to the community.

Residents are hereby reminded to respect and uphold the public's right-of-way and to ensure that sidewalks remain clear and accessible at all times. Failure to comply may result in appropriate action in accordance with existing laws, city ordinances, and barangay regulations.
