🌸 FLORES DE MAYO 2026 CULMINATION CELEBRATED AT RHFI

“Through Mary, to Jesus”

RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI), in collaboration with ARCORES Filipinas Foundation, Inc., joyfully concluded its Flores de Mayo 2026 celebration on May 29, 2026 at the RHFI Multi-Purpose Hall.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, reminding everyone that all Marian devotion leads us closer to Jesus. This year, 93 children participated in the month-long catechesis, guided by 17 dedicated Youth Catechists who generously shared their time, faith, and love.

The culmination featured songs, prayers, reflections, and presentations from the children, showing the fruits of their formation in faith, values, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Through the generosity of RHFI, ARCORES Filipinas, homeowners’ officers, FORSOAR members, volunteers, benefactors, and community partners, every child received school supplies, religious items, and tokens of support.

More than a tradition, Flores de Mayo is a mission of forming young hearts to love God, serve others, and become instruments of hope in the community.

“Every child reached is a life transformed; every life transformed is a community renewed.”

ARCORES FILIPINAS CONTINUES TO BRING “BAGS OF HOPE” TO CHILDREN

From Biliran to Mindanao, today, May 21, 2026, ARCORES Filipinas once again brought joy and smiles to 150 children who actively participated in the traditional Filipino celebration of Flores de Mayo.

Together with the University of San Jose-Recoletos team, ARCORES Filipinas distributed “Bags of Hope” filled with school supplies, chocolates, and pasta at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Parish in Dugmanon, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Located in one of the farthest mission areas in Mindanao, the parish community continues to face challenges brought by frequent earthquakes and typhoons. Despite these hardships, the faith, resilience, and joyful spirit of the children and parishioners continue to inspire hope and solidarity.

The activity became a meaningful expression of the ARCORES mission of “Moving Hearts, Transforming Lives,” especially in reaching geographically isolated and vulnerable communities through compassion, presence, and service.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our brother priests: Fr. Mike Catama, OAR, Fr. Mark Saludes, OAR, and Fr. Virgilio Calalang, OAR for warmly welcoming the team and for making this outreach activity possible through their dedicated pastoral ministry and love for the people entrusted to their care.

May these simple Bags of Hope continue to remind every child that they are loved, valued, and never forgotten.

🚨 BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV Quietly Responded to Barack Obama’s Call — And America Was Left Speechless 🕊️🇺🇸

After Barack Obama urged Americans to unite against hunger, Pope Leo XIV reportedly answered not with words — but with action.

Without cameras or public attention, the Pope quietly donated $12 million to the JBJ Soul Foundation, helping provide millions of meals for struggling families across the country.

Then, during a small gathering in New Jersey, he delivered one simple line that instantly moved the room:

“If I can help even a few families feel safe tonight, then that is a greater legacy than anything I have ever been called.”

As news spread, millions praised the Pope’s humility and compassion.

Soon after, Barack Obama reportedly sent a handwritten message that quickly captured national attention:

“Your compassion carries the same strength as the faith you represent.”

For many Americans, the moment felt bigger than politics.

It felt human.

Because in a time filled with division and noise, Pope Leo XIV reminded people that true leadership is not about power or recognition —

It’s about helping others when no one is watching. 🕊️❤️

ARCORES FILIPINAS BRINGS “BAGS OF HOPE” TO CHILDREN OF BILIRAN

Today, May 13, 2026, on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, ARCORES Filipinas joyfully distributed hundreds of “Bags of Hope” to children attending the Flores de Mayo activities at the parishes of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Almeria and St. Isidore Parish, in Culaba, both located in the remote province of Biliran.

Each Bag of Hope contained notebooks, crayons, ballpens, pens, papers, chocolates, noodles, and pasta — simple yet meaningful gifts intended to bring smiles, encouragement, and hope to children and families still recovering from the devastation caused by Typhoon Tinong and the continuing realities of poverty.

The outreach was made even more meaningful as it coincided with the Feast of Feast of Our Lady of Fatima — a reminder that Mary always accompanies the poor, the suffering, and the little ones with a mother’s love and compassion.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Anthony Morillo, OAR and Fr. Randy Castillo, OAR for warmly hosting the ARCORES team and for their generous hospitality and pastoral presence among the people of Biliran.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Fr. Reagan Guray (parish priest of Culaba) and Fr. Edgar Gumba (parish priest of Almeria) for their warm welcome and support, kindness, and dedication in serving their respective communities with compassion and faith.

The smiles and laughter of the children became a living reminder that even small acts of kindness can become powerful instruments of healing and hope. In the spirit of the Augustinian Recollect mission, may these Bags of Hope continue to inspire every child to dream, to persevere, and to believe that they are loved and remembered.

As ARCORES Filipinas continues its mission of “Moving Hearts, Transforming Lives,” may we always place the poor, the vulnerable, and the forgotten at the center of our mission and ministry.

DOODLE EARTH ACTIVITY BRINGS JOY AND ECOLOGICAL AWARENESS TO RHFI CHILDREN

Today, May 13, 2026, on the Feast of Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, laughter, creativity, and hope filled the halls of RESOURCE-Handumanan Foundation, Inc. as the “Doodle Earth” activity brought smiles and inspiration to children attending the month-long Flores de Mayo celebration at Handumanan, Bacolod City.

A total of 38 children, ages 6 to 8 years old, joyfully received copies of the “Doodle Earth” book — an educational and creative activity material designed to awaken children’s love, appreciation, and responsibility for our common home. Through coloring, reflection, storytelling, and interaction, the children were encouraged to care for creation while also deepening values formation grounded in faith and compassion.

The activity also became an expression of the “Tatak Recoleto” brand of education — one that forms not only the mind but also the heart. Inspired by the spirituality of St. Augustine and the mission of the Augustinian Recollects, the children were reminded that caring for the environment is part of loving God and loving one another.

The “Doodle Earth” book was co-authored by Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem, whose advocacy continues to inspire young people to become stewards of creation through creativity, awareness, and action.

As the children proudly displayed their colorful artworks, the activity became a beautiful reminder that even simple educational moments can plant seeds of hope, ecological awareness, and faith among the young — especially those coming from vulnerable and economically challenged communities.

May these children continue to grow with joyful hearts, creative minds, and a deeper love for God’s creation.

ARCORES FILIPINAS, RHFI, and UNO-R Social Work Interns Bring Hope to Jeepney Drivers Amid Fuel Price Hike

Bacolod City — May 9, 2026

In response to the continuing rise of fuel prices that has greatly affected public transportation drivers and their families, volunteers from ARCORES FILIPINAS, RESOURCE–Handumanan Foundation, Inc. (RHFI), and University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) Social Work Interns joined hands in a simple yet meaningful outreach activity for jeepney drivers in Bacolod City.

Under the scorching heat of the afternoon, student interns and volunteers went directly to the streets, distributing food packs and bottled water to jeepney drivers who continue to work tirelessly despite the increasing burden of fuel costs and the daily struggle to earn enough for their families.

The activity aimed not only to provide immediate relief, but also to remind drivers that they are seen, valued, and remembered by the community during difficult times.

Fr. Albert A. Pellazar, OAR, President of ARCORES FILIPINAS and RHFI, shared that the initiative reflects the mission of the organization to place the poor and vulnerable at the center of every response.

“Many of our jeepney drivers leave their homes early in the morning and return late at night just to provide for their families. With fuel prices continuously rising, their daily income becomes smaller and smaller. In our own little way, we want them to feel that they are not alone in this struggle.”

The outreach also became an opportunity for the UNO-R Social Work interns to encounter the realities faced by ordinary workers on the streets and to experience firsthand the spirit of compassionate service rooted in Catholic social teaching and the Augustinian Recollect mission.

Drivers expressed gratitude for the unexpected gesture of kindness, saying that even a simple meal and cold water helped ease the stress of the day.

The initiative forms part of the continuing humanitarian and social engagement programs of ARCORES FILIPINAS and RHFI under its advocacy of “Moving Hearts, Transforming Lives.”

As economic challenges continue to affect many sectors of society, the organizations hope that more groups and individuals will be inspired to become instruments of hope, compassion, and solidarity — especially for those who silently keep the city moving every single day.
