Bacoor National High School - Gawaran Annex Honors Learners in Recognition Day 2026

Bacoor National High School - Gawaran Annex held its Recognition Day on March 30, 2026, at San Lorenzo Ruiz Covered Court to honor the awardees for the School Year 2025-2026.

The event was marked by pride and celebration as 212 Grade 7, 8, and 9 learners, together with their parents, teachers, administrators, and guests, gathered to recognize the learners’ outstanding achievements and exemplary performance throughout the academic year.

Mr. John Kean C. Chavez, an alumnus from Batch 2013, delivered an inspiring message aligned with the theme, “Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character.”

He encouraged the learners to believe in their ability to lead with competence and character, saying the lines, “There will be moments when the path is unclear. You yourself will pressure your abilities. Kaya ko ba ito? You know within yourself na kayang kaya ninyo. That you have been prepared to lead. Stay grounded on your values. Never forget where you came from.”

Bacoor National High School – Gawaran Annex proudly joined the celebration of Women’s Month 2026 with this year’s empowering sub-theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!” 💜

A series of meaningful and engaging activities were conducted for both teachers and learners to honor the strength, leadership, and resilience of women. Throughout the month, the school community came together during the weekly flag raising ceremonies featuring an all-women cast of the Lupang Hinirang video, and by wearing purple attire every Wednesday as a symbol of unity and advocacy.

For the learners, creativity and admiration for inspiring women were highlighted through a Poster Making activity aligned with the sub-theme, which also served as a performance task in Values Education. Moreover, a Character Portrayal of Inspiring Women was conducted, where two representatives per grade level brought to life remarkable women who have made significant contributions to society. Through their costumes, delivery, and embodiment of character, participants showcased not only their talent but also a deep appreciation of women’s roles in history and modern times. This activity was spearheaded by Mr. Edgar E. Bartolome and evaluated by the esteemed panel of judges: Ms. Oflunra Abby A. Manlongat, Ms. April Joyce A. Falible, and Ms. Gia Nina S. Condes. Congratulations to the winners:

Teachers also took part in the celebration through a Photo Wall and a Group Solidarity Photo, symbolizing unity and support for gender equality. In addition, a Medical Mission was successfully conducted in partnership with the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Molino. The event began with an informative discussion on breast self-examination and mental health awareness led by the university’s nursing students, followed by free health services including vital signs monitoring, blood sugar testing, and eye check-ups. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the university for their generosity and invaluable support to our school community.

This celebration would not have been possible without the active participation and cooperation of both learners and teachers. Special thanks are extended to Ms. Ma. Jucel C. Chavez and Ms. Mary Abigail A. Yturriaga, Guidance Designates, for their dedicated efforts in organizing the activities. We also thank Dr. Marita S. Icay, School Principal, whose strong and inspiring leadership as a woman continues to empower and uplift the entire school community.
