September 27, 2026 | Carasi, Ilocos Norte โ€” More than a ride, the EcoRide 2026 brought motorcycle and car riders together in a shared journey for community, camaraderie, and environmental stewardship, with the 8th Marine R***e Battalion (8MRBn) extending its support to the Pugad Lawin Ilocos Norte Chapter in Carasi, Ilocos Norte.

The participation of 8MRBn strengthened its partnership with the local riding community and other stakeholders, demonstrating the battalionโ€™s commitment to supporting initiatives that bring people together for responsible outdoor recreation while highlighting the importance of protecting and appreciating the natural environment.

Beyond the road and forest, 8MRBn continues to build bridges with the communities it proudly serves and remains to be a reliable partner in activities that foster community ties, and environmentally conscious Ilocanos in the Northwestern Luzon frontier.

September 20, 2026 | Badoc, Ilocos Norte โ€” In a celebration filled with Filipino warmth and Marine camaraderie, the 8th Marine R***e Battalion welcomed MGEN VICENTE MAP BLANCO III PN(M), the 37th Commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps, during his Farewell Visit to the unit, highlighted by a traditional Barrio Fiesta gathering.

As a native Ilocano, MGEN Blanco's visit to Ilocos Norte carried a special sense of familiarity and connection, making the Barrio Fiesta a fitting celebration of both his homegrown roots and his enduring bond with the Marines and communities of Northern Luzon. The gathering brought together Marines, local government officials, and stakeholders in an atmosphere of fellowship, gratitude, and shared pride.

The occasion also served as an opportunity to honor his years of dedicated service and leadership, while celebrating the camaraderie and lasting relationships built throughout his service in the Philippine Marine Corps. Through shared stories, local traditions, and warm fellowship, the farewell became more than a send-off, but a celebration of service, heritage, and the bonds that endure.

As the Peacemaker Battalion and defenders of the Northwestern Luzon frontier, 8MRBn remains committed to carrying forward the proud traditions of the Philippine Marine Corps, honoring its legacy, strengthening its bonds, and continuing the mission with unwavering dedication.

September 12, 2026 | Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte โ€” In the spirit of service and community partnership, Marines of Marine Battalion Landing Team-8, under the 4th Marine Brigade, joined the Ilocano Vloggers Community in an outreach activity for children in Pagudpud.

Marines of the 38th Marine "Warriors" Company distributed school supplies and assisted in the feeding program, extending support that helped provide both nourishment and learning essentials to the young beneficiaries. The simple gesture reflected a shared commitment to uplifting the community through meaningful action.

As defenders of the Northwestern Luzon frontier, MBLT-8 continues to strengthen its connection with the people through compassion, cooperation, and service, proving that every helping hand can make a lasting difference.

September 1, 2026 | Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte โ€” Extending immediate assistance to communities affected by the recent weather disturbance, Marines of Marine Battalion Landing Team-8, under the 4th Marine Brigade, supported the distribution of relief goods to families in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, providing essential food and other basic necessities to those in need.

Working alongside local government partners, MBLT-8 Marines helped ensure the timely and orderly delivery of essential food and basic necessities to families in need, reinforcing the spirit of unity, compassion, and collective action in times of adversity.

As defenders of the Northwestern Luzon frontier, MBLT-8 continues to go beyond its mandate by supporting humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts that strengthen community resilience and promote the welfare of vulnerable communities. Through its partnership with the Pasuquin LDRRMO, the unit contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.โฉ

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | As Tropical Depression โ€œPILANDOKโ€ continues to severely affect parts of Northern Luzon, the Marine Battalion Landing Team-8 Disaster Rapid Response Team (MBLT-8 DRRT) remains on heightened alert across Ilocos Norte, with personnel, mobility assets, and disaster response equipment strategically positioned for immediate deployment in support of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations.

Through its Company Commanders and Officers-in-Charge, MBLT-8 continues to coordinate closely with local government units and disaster response agencies to facilitate rapid response and timely assistance to affected communities. This sustained readiness underscores the Battalionโ€™s commitment as the Defenders of Northwestern Luzon Frontier to protecting lives, supporting Ilocano communities, and standing ready as a capable force and steadfast partner in nation-building and disaster response.

August 30, 2026 | Laoag City, Ilocos Norte โ€” In observance of the National Heroes Day, Marines of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-8 (MBLT-8), under the 4th Marine Brigade, joined fellow Marines, running enthusiasts, and Ilocano community at the Philippine Marine Corps Marathon โ€œKabayanihan Runโ€ 2026 Laoag City Leg, promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyle, and the enduring Filipino spirit of kabayanihan.

More than a test of endurance, the run carried a purpose beyond the finish line. Its proceeds will support educational assistance for PMCOSAI college scholars, children of fallen and wounded Marines, programs and initiatives of the Philippine Marine Corps Foundation, Inc. (PMCFI), and Marines deployed in border islands and key maritime frontiers, including the West Philippine Sea, who continue to reinforce the nationโ€™s sovereign presence.

As the Defenders of Northwestern Luzon Frontier, MBLT-8 recognizes that the spirit of heroism lives through continued service and honoring the sacrifices of those who served before them while extending support to those who continue to carry the mission forward.

August 28, 2026 | Badoc, Ilocos Norte โ€” With pride and gratitude, Marine Battalion Landing Team-8, under the 4th Marine Brigade, honored SSgt Junamer A Embodo PN(M) during his Retirement Ceremony at Headquarters, MBLT-8, marking the conclusion of his active military service.

More than a farewell, the ceremony celebrated a journey defined by honor, duty, and valor. In his message, SSgt Embodo shared lessons drawn from years of service, emphasizing that leadership is not only about authority but also about setting the example, guiding junior Marines, and passing on knowledge and experience as a senior NCO. He underscored the importance of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty, especially during the many moments when Marines must serve away from their families. His words reflected the sacrifices behind the uniform and the responsibility of every Marine to remain steadfast in service, regardless of the challenges.

As Defenders of the Northwestern Luzon Frontier, MBLT-8 recognizes that every Marine contributes to a legacy greater than oneself. Though SSgt Embodoโ€™s active service comes to a close, the leadership, values, and lessons he imparted will remain a lasting part of the Marines he guided and mentored, inspiring them to carry the mission forward with the same professionalism, dedication, and commitment to service.
