The Bago City District Jail conducted its Values Restoration Program with the Values Focus for the Week: “Prayerfulness” during the regular Personnel Information and Education (PI&E) held on June 2, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Multi-Purpose Hall.

The activity was headed by Acting Jail Warden JCINSP ALEXNADER H SY, and presided over by SJO3 Ryan C Rivera, Deputy Warden. The discussion was facilitated by SJO1 Jenefre P Velado, Unit Values Restoration Officer (UVRO), who emphasized the importance of prayerfulness in strengthening faith, guiding decision-making, fostering inner peace, and cultivating resilience in both personal and professional life.

The session reminded personnel that prayerfulness nurtures humility, gratitude, and trust in God, enabling them to perform their duties with wisdom, compassion, and integrity.

“Prayer does not change every situation, but it changes the heart and strengthens the spirit to face every situation.”

The Bago City District Jail conducted its Values Restoration Program focusing on Political Neutrality, led by SJO1 Jenefre P Velado, Values Restoration Program Officer.

The discussion emphasized the importance of maintaining neutrality, professionalism, and integrity as uniformed personnel. Personnel were reminded that jail officers must remain impartial in political matters, avoiding political arguments, bias, and public expressions of political preference that may affect the dignity and credibility of the uniform and the Bureau.

As public servants, personnel are expected to uphold the mission and responsibilities of the organization by serving the people fairly, responsibly, and without political influence.

The Bago City District Jail, under the leadership of JCINSP ALEXANDER H SY, successfully conducted a Read a Book, Feeding, and Gift-Giving Outreach Program as part of its continuing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

The Jail Officer 1 Trainees from the National Jail Management and Penology Training Institute – Visayas Off Campus also actively participated in the activity. The trainees expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for being given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience and meaningful learning before becoming full-fledged Jail Officers.

Also present during the activity were the supportive personnel of BCDJ namely JO3 Christine C David, JO2 Stanley D Flores, JO2 Mary Ann S Venancio, and JO1 Kenielbert L Leysa.

The outreach program aimed to inspire learning among children through storytelling and reading activities while also providing meals and gifts to the beneficiaries. Through this initiative, the personnel shared not only food and educational materials but also compassion, encouragement, and hope to the community.

This activity reflects the Bureau’s dedication to promoting kindness, care, and meaningful public service beyond the walls of the jail facility while strengthening unity and community partnership.

The Bago City District Jail conducted a Values Restoration Program Lecture for the JO1 Trainees assigned at the facility as part of their Jail Immersion Program (JIP).

The lecture was conducted today, May 21, 2026, from 11:30 AM, at the Multi-Purpose Hall and was facilitated by SJO1 Jenefre P. Velado, Unit Values Restoration Officer (UVRO). The discussion focused on the value topic “Innovative / Creativity,” emphasizing the importance of critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity in addressing challenges and improving public service.

Through this activity, the trainees were encouraged to develop innovative ideas and creative approaches while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and commitment in the performance of their future duties.

The Bago City District Jail, under the leadership of JCINSP ALEXANDER H, recently joined the celebration of the 4th ALS Bagonhon Skills Festival with the theme, “A Showcase of ALS Skills and Talents,” held at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum & Cultural Center on May 13, 2026.

The activity featured a series of product displays and presentations showcasing the creativity, skills, and talents of ALS learners. Through the event, participants were given the opportunity to exhibit their craftsmanship, practical knowledge, and learning achievements developed through the Alternative Learning System (ALS).

The festival highlighted the importance of education, skills development, and empowerment in building confidence and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

The Bago City District Jail, under the leadership of JCINSP ALEXANDER H SY, Jail Warden has successfully conducted a Tree Planting Activity as part of the Bureau’s continuing Greening Program in partnership with the City Environment Management Office (CEMO) of Bago City.

The activity highlights the collaborative efforts of both agencies in promoting environmental protection, cleanliness, and sustainability for future generations. Through this initiative, personnel actively participated in preserving nature and contributing to the improvement of the local ecosystem.

This meaningful undertaking reflects the belief that even small actions can create significant impact. By working together and taking responsibility for the environment, we move closer toward the shared goal of protecting and saving the Earth.
