HGEES Conducts LAC Session and Active Threat Preparedness Orientationโ›‘๏ธ๐Ÿฆบ

As part of its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment, Holy Ghost Extension Elementary School (HGEES) conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session focused on Aggressive Behavior Awareness and Active Threat Preparedness. The activity aimed to equip teachers and school personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize warning signs of aggressive behavior, apply appropriate de-escalation strategies, and respond effectively during emergency situations.

During the session, participants discussed the different forms of aggressive behavior, including verbal, physical, and non-verbal actions. Emphasis was placed on identifying early warning signs such as hostile language, threatening gestures, pacing, and sudden behavioral changes that may indicate escalation. Teachers were reminded to remain calm, prioritize safety, and seek assistance from designated responders when necessary.

The LAC session also highlighted the importance of understanding the school's emergency procedures, particularly the concepts of Lockout and Lockdown, and the appropriate actions to take during an active threat situation. Participants reviewed the "DROP, RUN, HIDE, TELL, FIGHT" response framework and discussed how these actions can help protect lives during emergencies.

To strengthen preparedness, teachers actively participated in scenario-based discussions and practiced the proper response procedures during active threat situations. They worked together to simulate possible scenarios, apply the safety protocols discussed during the session, and evaluate the effectiveness of their responses. This hands-on activity allowed teachers to gain confidence and familiarity with the procedures before conducting the orientation and drills with learners.

After the practice sessions, the teachers engaged in a collaborative reflection and debriefing. They shared insights, identified possible challenges, and discussed strategies to ensure that emergency procedures would be communicated effectively and appropriately to learners. This reflective process helped enhance their readiness and ensured a unified approach in promoting school safety.

The activity concluded with an active threat drill and debriefing session, where participants reflected on the lessons learned, identified areas for improvement, and strengthened the school's emergency response measures. Through continuous training and preparedness activities, HGEES remains dedicated to promoting a culture of safety, awareness, and resilience among its learners and personnel.
