FROM FEB-IBIG TO A FOUNDATION OF SERVICE
More than a construction initiative, Project URINALS represents the power of FEB-IBIGโlove expressed through meaningful action, generosity, and service to children. The collaboration of SPTA officials, parent-members, school personnel, and the eleven Mrs. GES 2026 candidates reflects the belief that school improvement is a shared responsibility and that genuine love for learners is best demonstrated through tangible, lasting contributions.
This undertaking is aligned with the Department of Education's mission of providing learners with a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. By prioritizing essential sanitation facilities, GES continues to uphold the dignity, health, comfort, and well-being of every child.
With hearts united by a shared commitment to learner welfare, Gibraltar Elementary School under the leadership of Gemma N. Lomboy, PhD, Principal III and School Head Adviser, proudly marked another significant milestone through the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Project URINALS on October 5, 2026, at the Gibraltar Covered Court.
This meaningful undertaking is a special SPTA-led school improvement project under the FEB-IBIG 2026 Program, implemented through the collaborative efforts of the Gibraltar Elementary School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), its officers and parent-members, and the eleven candidates for Mrs. GES 2026, who joined hands in February 2026 to support initiatives that respond to the needs of the school community.
At the heart of this endeavor is Jennifer W. Cambolod, SPTA President for SY 2025โ2026 and 2026 Outstanding SPTA President of Gibraltar Elementary School, whose dedicated leadership, commitment, and spirit of service helped turn a shared vision into a concrete step toward improving school facilities.
A PRIORITY IMPROVEMENT AREA THAT MATTERS
The program began with the confirmation of attendance, followed by the opening remarks of the school head, who emphasized the importance of Project URINALS as one of the school's Priority Improvement Areas (PIA).
Serving almost 500 learners every school year, GES recognizes that adequate, functional, and learner-friendly sanitation facilities are essential to maintaining a safe, healthy, and motivating learning environment assisted by Architect Marion Memeg for the technical drafts of the urinal, free of service as a parent and stakeholder of GES ๐
She also shared updates on other forthcoming school improvement initiatives supported by various sources, underscoring the school's continuing commitment to mobilizing resources and building partnerships for sustainable development.
In presenting the project background, the SPTA President and treasurer highlighted the purpose and significance of the initiative, demonstrating how the collective efforts of parents and stakeholders can address practical school needs. Meanwhile, Hazel Banna presented the project's proceeds and financial aspects, reinforcing the value of transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of resources entrusted to the school community.
In their faculty responses, Sarah O. Garcia and Liza L. Polled expressed their heartfelt appreciation and resounding commendation for the blessings and opportunities continuously received by Gibraltar Elementary School. The messages affirmed that every contribution, whether big or small, becomes meaningful when directed toward the welfare of learners.
The Gibraltar Barangay Council, headed by Punong Barangay Nemesio O. Huag, likewise demonstrated its continuing support for the school's improvement agenda. The Barangay Council approved other requested support activities, particularly those that may be undertaken simultaneously with GES programs, projects, and activities, strengthening coordination and ensuring that community support contributes to a safe, responsive, and motivating learning environment.
The ground breaking ceremony was attended by the GES faculty and staff; members of the Gibraltar Barangay Council, including Kap. Nemesio O. Huag, Kagawad Lambert Bal-iyang, Kagawad Richard Dalilis, and Kagawad Grace Mayos; and the SPTA Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Their presence symbolized a united commitment to transforming identified school needs into achievable improvements.
As the groundbreaking ceremony opened the way for the realization of Project urinals, the GES community celebrated not only the beginning of a physical structure but also the strength of a partnership built on trust, shared responsibility, and a common purpose.
Every shovel of soil turned represents hope. Every contribution signifies generosity. Every partnership strengthens the foundation of a school that puts children first.
Together, we build more
