As part of the Farmers & Fisherfolk Congress 2025, the , in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary Office - Bataan, technical symposiums/seminars were held to showcase practical and emerging solutions aimed at increasing productivity, sustainability and resilience in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

The session featured five (5) keynote presentations from experts and practitioners:

𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐔𝐋𝐎 𝐌. 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐎, 𝐃𝐕𝐒𝐌, Chairperson of the National Advisory Committee for Animal Disease Control and Emergency (NAC-ADCE) – 𝘼𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧.

Following the presentations, an open forum was held, allowing participants to engage with the resource speakers. Questions centered on accessibility of technology, government support for training and scalability of integrated systems in rural communities.

Furthermore, the symposiums were attended by around 200 delegates, including farmers, fisherfolk, LGU representatives, researchers, and agri-entrepreneurs. The sessions successfully promoted knowledge exchange and highlighted sustainable, science-based practices that can be adopted across diverse farming and fishing communities.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗦 & 𝗙𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗞 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist-Bataan, in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary Office - Bataan, successfully conducted the Farmers & Fisherfolk Congress 2025, with the theme “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Kabukiran at Karagatan – Sa Makabagong Kamalayan at Likas-kayang Kaunlaran, Pagkain ay Handog sa Bawat Tahanan" at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, Roman Superhighway, Balanga City, Bataan.

Farmers and fisherfolk from each city/municipality in Bataan attended, along with 4-H Club members, Rural Improvement Club (RIC) members, Agriculture and Fishery Councils (AFCs), Fishery and Aquatic Resource Management Councils (FARMCs), staff from the Office of the City/Municipal Agriculturists and Veterinarians spearheaded by the OPA and OPV. Moreover, the said congress started with a motorcade from the Enrique Garcia Senior Avenue (EGSA), Fourlanes heading to the Bataan Tourism Pavilion.

The extends deepest gratitude to Hon. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III (Provincial Governor), Mr. Sahwan Guzman (Representative of Hon. Ma. Cristina M. Garcia, Provincial Vice Governor), Hon. Maria Angela S. Garcia (3rd District, Representative), Mr. Eduardo L. Lapuz, Jr., Ph.D. (Regional Executive Director, DA-RFO III) and Engr. Christopher V. Morales, CESO II (Undersecretary for Rice Industry Development, DA-Central Office), for their presence and giving inspirational messages to farmers and fisherfolk of Bataan.

Plaques of Recognition were given to Mr. Avelino V. Capuli and Mr. Ricardo A. Cruz, Jr. recognized as 2025 National & Regional Fisherfolk Directors, Ms. Ester T. Domingo of Montey's Food Enterprise as the Provincial Level – Gawad Saka 2024: Search for Outstanding Agricultural Entrepreneur (Micro-scale Category) Awardee and Ms. Armanda T. Battad of Amanda’s Marine Products as the Provincial Level – Gawad Saka 2024: Search for Outstanding Agricultural Entrepreneur (Medium-scale Category) Awardee. Aside from this, awarding of certificates to the recipients of Agricultural Production & Postharvest Machineries & Equipment for Different Banner Programs happened before the end of the program.

Furthermore, the Farmers & Fisherfolk Congress 2025 aims to recognize every farmer and fisherfolk in Bataan, alongside providing new knowledge that can be greatly applied for the advancement of their farming and fishing.
