President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is currently convening a situation briefing with key government officials following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that affected parts of Mindanao.

The President is receiving updates from DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, OCD Usec Harold Cabreros, and local officials on the ground, including General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao.

The Cabinet officials are currently in Mindanao following the President’s directive for a whole-of-government response, providing updates on ongoing response efforts, damage assessments, and the immediate needs of affected communities.
