The coastal local government units of Bataan underwent the 2025 Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA) Regional Onsite and Table Validation from May 13 to June 1, 2026. The activity was conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III, in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Politics (PPCRP). Through onsite inspections and table validations, the Regional Inter-Agency Assessment Committee evaluated the compliance of coastal LGUs with fisheries laws, policies, and environmental governance mandates.

Demonstrating their commitment to good governance and sustainable fisheries management, the coastal LGUs actively participated in the validation process and presented their initiatives, programs, and accomplishments in fisheries governance. Local officials and stakeholders worked diligently to ensure that the required policies, enforcement mechanisms, and environmental protection measures were properly documented and implemented, reflecting their determination to attain higher compliance ratings under FishCA.

The validation served both as an assessment and an opportunity for continuous improvement, encouraging LGUs to further strengthen their efforts in protecting marine resources and promoting responsible coastal governance. Through the collective commitment of local governments, partner agencies, and communities, Bataan continues to advance toward greater compliance, environmental sustainability, and resilient coastal development.
