In light of recent situation in the Middle East and their potential impact on global markets, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 1 (DTI R1) assures the public that the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) within the Ilocos Region remain stable. Recent monitoring shows sufficient inventory at major retailers, with compliance to Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) ensuring affordability.
DTI Region I advises against panic buying, as supply chains are fully operational. Regional Director Merlie D. Membrere highlights the importance of vigilance and coordination in maintaining consumer confidence. “Our continuous price and supply monitoring, coupled with close coordination with retailers and local government units, ensures that basic goods remain available and fairly priced for the public,” RD Membrere said.
DTI Region I continues to monitor markets and work with stakeholders to ensure fair practices and availability of essentials. Consumers should report any unfair trade practices to the nearest DTI office. The department is committed to a fair and stable marketplace in the Ilocos Region. 🇵🇭

The Department of Trade and Industry – La Union, through its Negosyo Centers, successfully conducted Module 1 of E-SULONG: From Click to Kita on February 18, 2026, in a simultaneous province-wide rollout, demonstrating a unified commitment to accelerating MSME digitalization. This foundational module represents a breakthrough milestone in transforming traditional enterprises into digitally visible businesses capable of expanding reach, increasing engagement, and unlocking new market opportunities.
E-SULONG is a structured 5-module capacity-building program designed to guide entrepreneurs through practical, progressive steps toward digital transformation. Conducted every 3rd Wednesday of the month, the program ensures continuous, flexible, and inclusive learning for MSMEs at various stages of digital readiness. Module 1 focused on page Creation, guiding participants on setting up their pages, configuring business information, understanding branding fundamentals, publishing their first structured posts, and planning consistent content.
Through E-SULONG, the Department of Trade and Industry – La Union aims to achieve concrete breakthrough goals: strengthening MSMEs’ digital competencies, improving online visibility and customer accessibility, promoting structured content marketing, and fostering sustainable, competitive enterprises in the digital economy. The simultaneous implementation across all Negosyo Centers reflects DTI’s proactive and unified approach, ensuring that no entrepreneur is left behind in the digital shift.
We commend all participating MSMEs for taking this bold first step toward growth and innovation. The journey from “Click to Kita” has officially begun — and this is only the start. Module 2 will continue building stronger, smarter, and more digitally resilient enterprises across La Union.
