Incident Type: Vehicular Traffic Incident

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Bangar together with PNP personnel promptly responded to the incident. Primary assessment, vital signs checking were conducted on the patient and he was provided first aid and was subsequently transported to Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) for further care and management.

The patient sustained a laceration on the upper part of his mouth and suspected dislocation on his right shoulder.

On October 8, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Bangar, under the leadership of Mayor Joy P. Merin, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in collaboration with the Department of Health CHD1, successfully conducted Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) in Emergency Setting Basic Training at the Municipal Mini Gymnasium.

The training aimed at preparing the participants to provide support that protects or promotes psychosocial well-being and prevents or treats mental health conditions, particularly during crises, emergencies, or disasters.

Participants from MDRRMO, MHOBC, MSWDO, BFP, MCR-BSRC, LYDO/youth sector, and high schools successfully completed the three-day activity.

Ms. Ena Rika G. Sanvictores of DOH CHD1, Mr. Kervin B. Kindipan, Ms. Shakey Jane A. Sannadan, and Mr. Paul Josef P. Pinniliw of DOH-TRC La Union served as facilitators of the said training.

The patient sustained multiple abrasions on his face and left knee.

Goodbye, Habagat!

A gradual shift in the prevailing weather pattern has been observed over the past several days, such as the strengthening high pressure system over East Asia, the southward-migrating Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and the notable weakening of winds and a decrease in rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon.

Forecasts indicate that these conditions are expected to persist in the coming days. In view of this, the Habagat season has officially ended. This also marks the termination of the rainy season over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
