BANGUI NHS JOINS MMSU FULBRIGHT GLOBAL SERVICE DAY IN TREE-GROWING ACTIVITY

School personnel and officials of the School Parents-Teachers Association of Bangui National High teamed up to support the August 1 worldwide celebration of Fulbright Global Service Day that brought Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and its Fulbright alumni to the town of Bangui.

Choosing community impact with environmental initiative as a way of marking the event, it is an Agoho tree growing program called MMSU FulbrighTrees to SUCCEED. The Agoho was chosen for its environmental benefits such as erosion control, climate defense, and coastal habitat revival. It also serves as a symbolic meaning to the Fulbright alumni’s meaningful link to the United States of America.

The program earned support from MMSU’s partner organizations that include American Corner Batac and the Rotary Club of Laoag Sunshine. The Local Government Unit of Bangui hosted the event.

The tree-growing initiative was held at the hilltop area of the school that overlooks the coastlines and the wind farms.
