Baras, Rizal, Philippines 1970

Army and the Philippine Constabulary units liberated the municipality of Baras in 1945. The guerrillas of the General Marking Units defeated the Japanese forces and it ended World War II. The Military General Headquarters and Camp Bases of the 53rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Commonwealth Army was established and active from 1942 to 1946 and built Camp Caparas in Baras. The military engagements of the Anti-Japanese Operations in Manila and Southern Luzon aided the local guerilla resistance fighters and U.S. The Fall of Intramuros started in February 1945 under the Battle of Manila. Local Filipino soldiers, military officers, military trucks, tanks, military IFV's artilleries and many other military equipments under the 53rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Commonwealth Army were sent from the local military operations in the City of Manila military GHQ to camp bases at Camp Caparas in Barangay Concepcion, Baras. The military engagements of the Anti-Japanese Operations in Manila also recaptured and liberated Intramuros. It also aided the local guerrillas and the U.S. military forces fought and defeated the Japanese Imperial army under Navy Admiral Sanji Iwabuchi.
