The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) warns the public regarding reports of an individual falsely impersonating the Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard (CPCG) through phone call.

The PCG clarifies that these phone calls are fraudulent and unauthorized. The CPCG does not engage in such communications for personal, financial, or unofficial purposes, nor does he solicit monetary assistance through calls or any other means.

All PCG personnel are likewise reminded to exercise vigilance and refrain from engaging with or responding to unverified calls that may compromise the integrity and credibility of the organization.
The PCG is currently coordinating with concerned authorities to investigate the incident and to pursue appropriate legal action against those responsible.

The PCG reiterates its commitment to protecting the public and upholding trust by ensuring the dissemination of accurate and verified information.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: A 35-year-old man was apprehended after authorities intercepted suspected ma*****na during a routine baggage inspection at the Port of Batangas on 26 March 2026.

Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Batangas City received a report from a lady frisker regarding a suspicious item detected inside the bag of a passenger undergoing standard screening procedures. The suspected item, concealed inside an opened cigarette pack, was discovered after the lady frisker asked the suspect to open the pack for further inspection.

In response, Coast Guard Station Batangas deployed a K9 unit to conduct verification of the suspected substance. The K9 inspection indicated the presence of illegal drugs. Subsequently, the suspect, a resident of San Pascual, Batangas, was apprehended by deployed personnel of the Philippine National Police inside the port.

Authorities recovered one sachet of ma*****na with an estimated street value of PHP 240.00, along with a glass tube, a cigarette pack used for concealment, a ferry ticket bound for Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, and a black bag.

The confiscated items were properly documented and turned over to PNP Batangas City for laboratory examination and further investigation.

The suspect is currently under police custody and is expected to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In line with the Women’s Month Celebration, the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL) successfully conducted a three-day Marksmanship Training exclusively for female personnel from various Coast Guard Stations within the district’s area of responsibility, held from 23 to 25 March 2026.

The activity highlighted the vital role of women in uniformed service, aiming to further enhance their confidence, discipline, and proficiency in firearm handling essential in ensuring operational readiness and safety during law enforcement and security operations.

The training covered fundamental and advanced marksmanship skills, including gun safety rules, proper firearm handling, disassembly and assembly, as well as dry firing and live-fire exercises. Participants demonstrated determination and excellence, reinforcing the growing capability of women in the service.

CGDSTL remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering female Coast Guard personnel by providing equal opportunities for specialized training and professional development, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the organization and to national service.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog proudly congratulates the Philippine Coast Guard Dragon Boat Team for their outstanding achievement in the Mayor SPC 2026 – Leg 1 Philippine Dragon Boat Regatta, held at Ambulong Bañadero Baywalk in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Tanauan City, Batangas.

The event gathered 25 teams from across the country, showcasing remarkable displays of strength, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The regatta also supports the city’s initiative to promote sports tourism and further develop the capabilities of Filipino athletes.

Demonstrating exceptional skill, endurance, and coordination, the Philippine Coast Guard Dragon Boat Team delivered an impressive performance and secured the following victories:

𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍: Tuloy-tuloy ang pagsisikap ng mga kawani ng Philippine Coast Guard kasabay ang Municipal Tourism Office sa pagsagawa ng Recreational Safety Enforcement Inspection (RSEI) upang matiyak ang kaligtasan sa mga destinasyong panturismo ng Real, Quezon.

Sa kasalukuyan, aabot sa 92 sa kabuuang 117 resorts sa bahagi ng Real, Quezon ang matagumpay nang na-inspeksyon ng PCG upang masiguro ang kanilang pagsunod sa umiiral na mga regulasyon.

Layunin ng aktibidad na masiguro ang pagsunod ng mga resort at operator ng mga bangka sa wastong paggamit ng mga kagamitang pangkaligtasan, pagkakaroon ng kaukulang akreditasyon, at pagtalima sa mga pamantayan ng kaligtasang pandagat.|

Nagbigay rin ang mga tauhan ng paalalang pangkaligtasan upang maiwasan ang mga insidente at maisulong ang ligtas at responsableng turismo sa lugar.
