The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Baybay City Office participated in the DILG Leyte Cluster 3 Meeting held in Inopacan, Leyte together with Cluster Head Mauricio T. Labado Jr. and field officers from Districts 4 and 5. The activity served as a venue for coordination, discussion of updates, and alignment of strategies in the implementation of various programs and initiatives of the Department.
The meeting also strengthened collaboration and partnership among field officers in ensuring efficient delivery of technical assistance and responsive public service to local government units. Through continuous coordination and teamwork, DILG field offices remain committed to promoting effective local governance and quality service to communities across Leyte Province.

The DILG Baybay City Office actively participated in the webinar titled โDigital and Responsive Governance: Empowering DILG Region VIII Personnel on Efficient Service Delivery through the Citizenโs Charter and PalengQR PHโ held via Zoom on May 21, 2026. The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of DILG personnel in promoting efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered public service through digital governance initiatives and streamlined frontline services. The webinar also highlighted the importance of the Citizenโs Charter and the implementation of PalengQR PH in advancing cashless transactions and improving ease of doing business in local government operations. Through this activity, DILG Baybay City reaffirmed its commitment to responsive governance and continuous enhancement of public service delivery for the benefit of the community.

Barangay Secretaries from various barangays of Baybay City convened in a meeting with the Department of the Interior and Local Government Baybay City Office to address key administrative concerns and strengthen coordination in local governance processes.
The meeting focused on several important agenda items, including the submission of required barangay reports, ensuring completeness and timeliness of compliance documents, and the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) account checking.
Also discussed was the upcoming Enhanced Barangay Development Planning Workshop, which aims to further capacitate barangay secretaries in the formulation and updating of their respective Barangay Development Plans.
Through this engagement, the DILG Baybay City Office reaffirmed its commitment to providing continuous technical assistance and ensuring that barangay offices are well-equipped to deliver efficient and responsive public service.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Baybay City Office conducted coordination with the Baybay City Accounting Office regarding the FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund โ Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU). The discussion focused on the necessary procedures and documentary requirements following the release by the Bureau of the Treasury of the Notice of Authority to Debit Account (NADAI) to the City Government of Baybay. The activity aims to ensure the proper processing, utilization, and monitoring of the financial assistance in accordance with existing government guidelines and policies, while further strengthening coordination between concerned offices for the timely implementation of programs and projects benefiting the local community.

Barangay officials from the different barangays of Baybay City actively participated in the โ2026 Pagrig-on Han mga Harigi: Strengthening of Barangay-Based Institutions โ Episode 2: BDRRMCโ conducted via Zoom on May 14, 2026. The activity aimed to further strengthen the capacity of barangay officials in disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and management in line with the governmentโs continuing efforts to build resilient and disaster-ready communities.
The training discussed important topics including the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (BDRRMP), the functionality of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC), and disaster-related indicators based on the Draft 2026 Reprogrammed Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB). Resource speakers from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) provided guidance and updates to help barangays improve their compliance and disaster management initiatives.
The activity also served as an avenue for barangay officials to enhance their understanding of disaster risk reduction strategies and strengthen coordination in promoting public safety and community resilience in Baybay City.
