IN PHOTOS | The CFIDP Internship Program for Children of Coconut Farmers (IPCCF) and the Youth Internship Program on Organic Agriculture (YIPOA) interns, together with their mentors, convened today at ATI-RTC 8, VSU Campus, Baybay City, Leyte, for the Training on Business and Enterprise Plan Development, which will run from June 1-5, 2026.

The five-day training aims to equip the interns with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop viable, market-responsive, and sustainable coconut-based enterprises. Through a series of lectures, workshops, and mentoring sessions, participants will formulate enterprise plans that will serve as the foundation for accessing start-up capital support and transforming their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality.

🌾Ang isang kilo ng binhing palay ay may humigit-kumulang 45,000 butil
🌾Ang 40 kilo ay may halos 1.8 milyong butil
🌾Kapag may 85% na pagtubo ng binhi, makakatubo ito ng mahigit 1.5 milyong punla o seedlings

Kung ang magsasaka ay magtatanim na may pagitan na 20 sentimetro x 20 sentimetro, magkakaroon ng humigit-kumulang 250,000 tundos o hills ng palay sa isang ektarya. Kung tigtatlong punla ang itatanim kada tundos, mangangailangan lamang ng 750,000 punla para sa isang ektarya.

Ibig sabihin, kahit kalahati lamang ng mahigit 1.5 milyong punla ang magamit, sapat pa rin ito upang matamnan ang buong isang ektaryang bukid.

TANDAAN: Kapag sobra ang dami ng binhing ginagamit, nagsisiksikan ang mga punla sa sustansya, tubig, at sikat ng araw na maaaring magpahina sa kanilang paglaki.

| Ayon sa PhilRice, ang paggamit ng dekalidad na binhi ng rekomendadong barayti ay maaaring makapagpataas ng ani ng palay ng humigit-kumulang 5–10% o higit pa kapag sinabayan ng tamang pamamahala sa bukid.

Bakit nga ba may dagdag ani kapag dekalidad ang binhi? 🌱

Kapag maganda ang kalidad ng binhi, mas marami ang sabay-sabay na tumutubo dahil mayroon itong hindi bababa sa 85% germination rate. Ibig sabihin, mas kaunti ang hindi sumisibol. Dahil dito, mas pantay-pantay ang dami ng halaman sa bukid at mas nasusulit ang bawat bahagi ng taniman.

Ang dekalidad na binhi ay:

✅ puro at walang halo ng ibang barayti
✅ kakaunti ang halong buto ng damo
✅ puno at pantay ang laki
✅ walang sakit at pesteng galing sa binhi
✅ malakas at mabilis tumubo
