𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐌𝐂𝐒-𝟑𝟎𝟎𝟓

The BFAR MCS-3005, under the command of CAPT. FERDINAND F MONTERMOSO PCG, Skipper of the vessel, docked at Baybay City Port as part of its maritime operations in the area.

Upon arrival, the vessel's personnel paid a courtesy call to Hon. Jose Carlos L. Cari, City Mayor of Baybay, where they discussed their intended Open Ship Activity and its objectives of promoting maritime awareness, safety, marine environmental protection, and appreciation of maritime services among the youth and the local community.

The Coast Guard Sub-Station Baybay assisted in the coordination and facilitation of the activity, which provided elementary pupils from Immaculate Conception Angelicum Inc. an opportunity to visit BFAR MCS-3005, learn about the vessel and its operations, and gain a better understanding of the important work being carried out at sea.

The activity also highlighted the shared commitment of maritime agencies and the local community toward the protection of our seas, responsible fisheries, maritime safety, and the preservation of our marine environment.

For the young participants, the Open Ship was more than simply visiting a vessel—it was an opportunity to see, learn, and appreciate the people and services dedicated to keeping our waters safe, clean, and secure. ⚓🌊

On or about 26 0300H September 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Baybay (CGSS Baybay) together with Coast Guard Sub-Station Inopacan and MEPT-Baybay proudly participated in the Bubble Fun Run – Alay Takbo 2026, with the theme “MATAG LAKANG, GUGMA SA PAMILYA.” The activity was organized by the Baybay City LAKAD Foundation, in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Baybay City and other partner local agencies.

The activity highlighted the importance of unity, camaraderie, physical fitness, and love for family—values that strengthen not only our personnel but also the community we serve. It also aimed to promote health and wellness through physical activity, family bonding, and community participation.

As members of the Philippine Coast Guard, we remain committed to support activities that promotes public service, community partnership, physical fitness, and the well-being of the people.

Baybay City—The Coast Guard Sub-Station Baybay joined the nationwide opening of the 27th National Maritime Week today at Baybay City Port, where vessels conducted the Full Dressing of Ships and the simultaneous blowing of ship’s horns as part of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026.

This annual observance recognizes the vital role of the maritime sector in national economy, security, and identity. Anchored on the theme "Sailing Toward the Future: Safe Voyage Toward a Progressive Economy," the activity highlights that as an archipelagic nation, the lives and livelihoods of every Filipino are closely tied to the sea.

Vessel docked at Baybay City Port displayed signal flags from stem to stern in observance of the Full Dressing of Ships, followed immediately by the simultaneous sounding of horns—a unified gesture of respect, festivity, and solidarity among maritime agencies, seafarers, fisherfolk, port workers, and stakeholders.

The activity also pays tribute to our maritime heroes—Filipino seafarers and all those working in the maritime industry.

𝐂𝐆𝐒𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐁𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐏 (𝐈𝐂𝐂)

On or about 19 0600H September 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Baybay, CGSS Inopacan, Coast Guard Marine Environmental Protection Team (CGMEPT) – Baybay, and MSSU-WL participated in the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) conducted at Brgy. Zone 21 and VSU beachfront, including adjacent coastal areas of Brgy. Pangasugan, Baybay City, Leyte.

The activity was conducted in coordination with DENR-CENRO Baybay and the VSU ICC 2026 Core Organizations, in support of the continuing efforts to protect, preserve, and conserve the coastal and marine environment.

PCG personnel provided necessary assistance to ensure the orderly and successful conduct of the activity, which brought together various government agencies, LGUs, academic institutions, students, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

The activity was successfully conducted in a peaceful, safe, and orderly manner, reaffirming the PCG's commitment to environmental protection, maritime safety, and community partnership.

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐢, during the conduct of the Flag Raising and Wreath-Laying Ceremony held at the 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐋𝐞𝐲𝐭𝐞. The activity was also attended by 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐨𝐝, 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬, and other 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬.

The Flag Raising Ceremony serves as a solemn reaffirmation of loyalty and respect for the national flag and the ideals of freedom, unity, and sovereignty it represents. Meanwhile, the Wreath-Laying Ceremony is a fitting tribute to the heroism and sacrifices of our forebears, whose courage secured the liberty enjoyed by the present generation.

The activity was held in line with the 𝟏𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. It signifies the collective resolve of all public servants to uphold the nation’s sovereignty, honor the legacy of our heroes, and renew their commitment to serve the Filipino people with integrity and patriotism.
