📌 10|01|26 Through Executive Order No. 105, the LGU Tublay under the leadership of Atty. Juan L. Esnara, continues its Quarterly Brigada Municipyo—bringing together municipal officials and employees, COS workers, GIP participants, and personnel from various field offices (PNP & BFP Tublay), in coordination with barangays and schools, for a cleaner, safer, healthier, and more disaster-resilient community.

🌧️ With the prolonged Habagat and the occurrence of various tropical cyclones, regular cleaning, clearing, and assessment of facilities are essential to identify and address potential hazards such as accumulated debris, clogged drainage, and unsafe facilities.

🦟 With the increasing concern over dengue cases in Benguet, the Brigada Municipyo also promotes environmental sanitation and the elimination of stagnant water and other potential mosquito-breeding sites.

The activity also goes beyond clean-up! A brief orientation was conducted to strengthen awareness on Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, including:
♻️ Solid Waste Management – a discussion led by the MENRO on proper waste segregation, disposal, and keeping waterways and drainage systems clean.
🧼 Sanitation and Oplan Kimkimay – discussed by the Sanitary Inspector, highlighting practical measures to maintain sanitation and prevent the spread of diseases, including dengue.

These simple but collective actions contribute to sound environment, reducing disaster and health risks and strengthening the resilience of Tublay.

PRESS RELEASE
DOST-PAGASA S&T Media Services
Quezon City, 23 September 2026

DOST-PAGASA warns of an intensifying Very Strong El Niño through the first half of 2027.

A Strong El Niño is currently active in the Tropical Pacific and is expected to intensify into a Very Strong El Niño between September–December 2026, potentially persisting through the first half of 2027.

For the Philippines, this may bring warmer temperatures and below-normal rainfall, increasing the risk of dry spells, drought, and water supply stress that could affect agriculture, food security, energy, public health, and the economy.

However, El Niño does not mean that rain will completely stop. The ongoing Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and active tropical cyclones may still bring short-term heavy rainfall, particularly over the western sections of the country.

Prepare for prolonged dryness, but remain vigilant for episodes of heavy rainfall.
