Today, the Computing Society joins the celebration of National Teachers’ Day as we honor our dedicated instructors from the Computer Science Department of BISU-Bilar and all instructors out there.

Thank you for your patience, guidance, knowledge, and dedication in helping us learn, grow, and become better students and future professionals. From teaching us how to code and solve problems to guiding us through challenges, your efforts continue to make a meaningful impact on our journey.

To all our instructors, thank you for everything you do. Your lessons may go beyond the classroom, but the impact you leave on your students will always remain.

𝗚𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘: 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The gavel was raised, discussions were shared, and student leaders came together to learn more about parliamentary procedure and responsible governance.

Held on October 2, 2026, at the Farmer’s Training Center, BISU-Bilar Campus, the “Gavel to Governance: Parliamentary Procedure and Legislative Skills Training for Student Leaders,” organized by the Computing Society (COMSOC) in collaboration with the University Student Government (USG), brought together student leaders from different organizations and schools for a day of learning, discussion, and simulated legislative sessions.

Throughout the training, participants explored motions, resolutions, agenda preparation, deliberation, voting, and legislative documentation while gaining practical insights that can be applied in their respective organizations.

More than just learning the rules of parliamentary procedure, the activity reminded us that leadership is also about listening, understanding different perspectives, speaking with purpose, and making decisions responsibly.

To our resource speaker, Alvin E. Pinanongan, and to all participating student leaders, organizations, and schools, thank you for making this learning experience meaningful.

The numbers were high, the questions were tough, and the competition was intense! As part of the celebration of SciMath Month, different colleges came together for an exciting battle of knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking at the SciMath Feud!

And the title goes to the College of Agricultural Sciences (COAS)! Congratulations, COAS, for taking the win and making it all the way to the Bonus Round, where you reached 200 points! What a way to finish the feud!

A big round of applause to all the participating colleges — CTE, CFES, CTECH, and CBM — for stepping up, competing with confidence, and making the game more exciting.

And of course, a special thank you to Exequel John Dela Cruz, one of our alumni, for bringing the energy and serving as the host of the SciMath Feud!

Brains, teamwork, and a little friendly competition! Here are some highlights from the SciMath Feud held in celebration of SciMath Month.

Congratulations to the College of Agricultural Sciences (COAS) for emerging as the winner and reaching the 200-point mark in the Bonus Round! Their teamwork, knowledge, and quick thinking truly stood out throughout the competition.

Kudos to all participating colleges — CTE, CFES, CTECH, and CBM — for bringing your best to the challenge and making the competition exciting from start to finish.

A special thanks to Exequel John Dela Cruz, one of our esteemed alumni, for serving as the host of the SciMath Feud and helping make the event more engaging and enjoyable for everyone.

SCIMATH FEUD — GAME NA!

𝗚𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘: 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

A gavel is more than a symbol of authority—it represents order, responsibility, and the power to make decisions.

The Computing Society (COMSOC), in collaboration with the University Student Government (USG), proudly presents “Gavel to Governance: Parliamentary Procedure and Legislative Skills Training for Student Leaders,” an extension activity designed to equip student leaders with practical knowledge and skills in parliamentary procedure, legislative processes, deliberation, and responsible decision-making.

Through discussions, demonstrations, and simulated legislative sessions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of motions, resolutions, agenda preparation, deliberation, voting, and legislative documentation—skills essential in building organized, participatory, and accountable student governance.

𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥

𝗔𝗟𝗩𝗜𝗡 𝗘. 𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗚

A freelance professional host, pasarela and pageant trainer, human rights advocate, civil servant, and resource speaker since 2021, with expertise in leadership, public speaking, legislative measures and proceedings, politics, inclusivity, and diversity.

She is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Holy Name University, Cum Laude, and has held leadership positions across all three branches of the university’s Central Student Government, serving as President (2021), Vice President (2019), and Senior Associate Justice (2023).

Among her notable achievements and experiences are:
• Philippine Delegate to the 60th International Leaders Congress in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
• Top 10 Outstanding Students of the Philippines, 2023
• Outstanding Student Leader Delegate, World School Summit, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2024
• Former President of Katigom Bol-Anon Organization – Kilos Kabataan, Bohol Chapter
• Former President of the Society of College Seniors, Holy Name University
• Former Pageant Director of the Annual Search for Quintessential HNU Ambassadors
• Recipient of the Alphonse Lessage of Servant Leadership Golden Medallion, the highest Leadership Medallion of Holy Name University, 2023
• Presently connected with the City Government of Tagbilaran – Sangguniang Panlungsod and serving as Associate Instructor 1 at Holy Name University
