On March 26, 2026, the Gender and Development of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center held its 2nd Tatak JR: Ulirang Babaeng Kawani ni Mang Jose 2026 at Manila Prince Hotel.
This landmark event celebrated and honored JRRMMCโs outstanding women who have exemplified exceptional standards of dedication, service, integrity and leadership. It recognizes individuals who embody the institutionโs core values and continually contribute to creating respectful, compassionate and gender-responsive workplace.
The event was graced by the Executive Committee, led by JRRMMCโs Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Wenceslao S. Llauderes, together with the Chief of Medical Professional Staff II, Dr. Zharlah G. Flores, Chief Nurse, Mr. Joseph T. Gatchalian, CAO for Finance, Mr. Jayson G. Dela Cruz, and CAO for HOPSS, Atty. Ruela C. Mendoza, whose presence underscored the institutionโs full support for this landmark celebration.

In line with the celebration of Womenโs Month, the Department of Behavioral Medicine successfully conducted a lecture entitled โThe Courage to Take Up Space: Confidence in Women.โ
The session highlighted the importance of empowering women to recognize their worth, embrace their voices, and confidently claim their place in both personal and professional spaces. Participants were encouraged to cultivate self-belief, resilience, and courage in navigating challenges and opportunities.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ernestine Baroรฑa, FPNA, who shared valuable insights on fostering confidence and encouraging women to stand firm in their strengths and aspirations.
This meaningful discussion serves as a reminder that every woman has the strength and capability to lead, inspire, and make a difference. Together, let us continue to support and uplift women in every space they choose to occupy.

Bilang mga lingkod-bayan at tagapagtaguyod ng kalusugan, isinasabuhay natin ang diwa ng makabagong Babaylanโnangunguna, may paninindigan, may malasakit, at may boses sa pagsusulong ng pantay na serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa lahat.

The Gender and Development (GAD) successfully conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training on January 30, 2026, at the Lucky Chinatown Hotel, Manila.
The activity was attended by various hospital personnel, primarily newly hired employees. The training aimed to enhance participantsโ understanding of fundamental gender concepts, promote gender equality, and strengthen awareness of gender sensitivity in the workplace, in line with the hospitalโs commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable working environment.
The activity featured engaging discussions, interactive learning sessions, and practical insights that equipped participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote gender responsiveness in their respective roles.
Below are some of the highlights of the activity. The GAD Unit likewise extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for their valuable contributions and for generously imparting their expertise and views, which ensured the success of the training.

The second day of the Gender and Development (GAD) Program Implementation Review focused on in-depth discussions, validation of findings, and collaborative workshops to identify gaps and refine strategies for strengthening gender-responsive programs.
The activity culminated on December 19 with the synthesis of key insights, presentation of commitments, and formulation of actionable plans, reaffirming a shared commitment to inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive development.

Presented during the three-day Program Implementation Review (PIR), the 2026 Calendar of Activities serves as a strategic roadmap for the implementation of gender-responsive programs and interventions for the coming year.
The calendar outlines a comprehensive series of capacity-building activities, advocacy campaigns, policy orientations, and institutional assessments aimed at strengthening gender mainstreaming across systems, structures, and service delivery.
Anchored on national GAD mandates and aligned with the priorities of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the planned activities focus on promoting gender sensitivity and gender-fair language, advancing HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention, supporting womenโs empowerment, recognizing LGBTQIA+ rights, protecting persons with disabilities and solo parents, and addressing mental health and psychosocial well-being.
These initiatives underscore JRRMMCโs continued commitment to inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive healthcare governance in line with its mandate to provide quality health services for all.

The first day of the Gender and Development (GAD) Program Implementation Review at Prime Asia Hotel, Clark, Pampanga marked the start of meaningful discussions, in-depth assessments, and shared commitments toward inclusive development. Joined with program partners from the clinical departments of the medical center.
Reviewing program successes, identifying gaps and obstacles, and coordinating tactics to improve gender-responsive policies, programs, and services were the main goals of the activity.
