What if a school meeting could do more than deliver announcements? At Estanza Elementary School today, Sept.17, parents came not only to listen, but to understand, ask, reflect, and discover how they could become stronger partners in supporting their children's education.
The Term 1 General Assembly opened with Pilipinas Kong Mahal, followed by the invocation and the singing of the Estanza Elementary School Hymn, setting the tone for an afternoon anchored on love of country, faith, and shared responsibility.
๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ง๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ผ welcomed the parents and emphasized the importance of cooperation among the school, families, and community in addressing the needs of learners.
School safety and preparedness took the spotlight as ๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ผ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น presented updates on M7X, focusing particularly on the practical ways parents can help the school strengthen preparedness, safety, and learner protection.
The assembly also featured the presentation of the SGC-approved SPTA Resolution No. 1, s. 2026, delivered by ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ผ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฐ. The discussion helped parents understand the resolution not simply as a school document, but as an approved initiative that calls for community participation and support. She also reoriented the stakeholders about the ARAL Program and the ongoing Middle of the School Year Assessments ( MOSYs) in CRLA, PhilIRI, and RMA.
Another important segment focused on revisiting the Major and Minor Offenses and the updated Child Protection Policy ( DO 006, s.2026) presented by ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ ๐. ๐จ๐ป๐๐ผ. The discussion clarified the nature of offenses, appropriate interventions and consequences, while emphasizing that discipline must remain consistent with the rights, dignity, and welfare of every child.
Numbers, meanwhile, told another part of the school's story.
๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ presented the school's First-Term Mean Percentage Scores (MPS) through a data-based presentation. Beyond reporting the figures, the presentation identified learning gaps and their implications for instruction, intervention, and parental support. The results provided parents with a clearer picture of where learners need additional assistanceโand where home-school partnership can make a difference.
The assembly reached a more interactive turn during the School Head's Hour, led by ๐๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐บ ๐ง. ๐ง๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ผ.
Instead of limiting the session to another information briefing, Toledo administered a 15-item situational quiz to parents to gauge their knowledge and understanding of current DepEd reforms, school policies, learner protection, and the different ways parents can support the school.
The quiz made one point particularly clear: parent engagement begins with understanding.
The assembly concluded with the Homeroom PTA Meetings and distribution of report cards, where parents met with teachers to discuss their children's academic performance and progress during the first term.
The September 17 gathering therefore became more than a routine General Assembly. It brought together policy, performance data, school initiatives, child protection, safety, and parent participation in one shared conversation.
At Estanza ES, the message was simple but powerful: a school becomes stronger when parents do not merely receive informationโbut understand it, support it, and become part of the solution.
