📌 Typhoon Situation Overview

Typhoon Uwan continues to rapidly intensify as it approaches Catanduanes.
• Location (4:00 AM): 195 km East of Virac, Catanduanes
• Winds: 175 km/h sustained; gusts up to 215 km/h
• Movement: West-northwest at 35 km/h
• Category: Typhoon, nearing Super Typhoon intensity
• Wind field: Typhoon-force winds extend up to 800 km from the center

🌪️ Impact to Mountain Province (TCWS #3)

Areas under Signal No. 3 may experience storm-force winds (89–117 km/h) within 18 hours.

Expected Local Impacts:

✅ Moderate to significant damage to structures and light materials
✅ Uprooting of small trees; broken branches
✅ Possible road obstructions, especially in mountain passes
✅ High risk of landslides, rockfalls, and slope failures
✅ Potential power interruptions and disrupted communications
✅ Strong winds enhanced in high-elevation barangays and ridges
✅ Heavy rains possible as Uwan broadens its rainband

🛡️ Preparedness Actions

For the Public:
• Stay indoors and secure loose items around homes.
• Keep emergency kits ready; fully charge devices.
• Stay away from steep slopes, rivers, and landslide-prone terrain.
• Avoid travel—rockfalls and falling trees are expected along major roads.
• Follow evacuation advisories from barangay and MDRRMC.

For LGUs/MDRRMCs:
• Activate full readiness and operations monitoring.
• Conduct checks in high-risk barangays for possible preemptive evacuation.
• Prepare evacuation centers and essential logistics.
• Maintain coordination with PNP, BFP, DPWH, and health units.
• Monitor rainfall advisories from PAGASA RSD.
