🌿 WEAVING A GREENER FUTURE: THE GREEN THREAD INITIATIVE
BOSTON, DAVAO ORIENTAL — To strengthen local livelihoods and preserve traditional crafts, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the NEGOSYO CENTER BOSTON, successfully conducted “THE GREEN THREAD INITIATIVE: Skills Training on Pandan Weaving” on March 26 to 27, 2026, at the Tribal Hall in Barangay Cabasagan.
The two-day intensive workshop brought together 15 aspiring artisans, comprising 14 women and 1 man representing the Cabasagan Farmers Association, 4Ps Beneficiaries, and the Rural Improvement Club (RIC).
Under the expert guidance of our trainer, Ms. Precila A. Cutillas, participants mastered the intricate techniques of the craft, while the program was facilitated by Mr. Ivan A. Butulan, Special Operation Officer I of Negosyo Center Boston. Together, they empowered our participants to transform raw pandan leaves into high quality commercial goods, including intricate bags, traditional bayongs, and stylish hats.
🤝 A Collaboration of Heart and Hand
This initiative was made possible through the powerful synergy of our partners:

• LGU Boston: Under the leadership of Mayor Rowell F. Rosit.
• BLGU Cabasagan: Supported by Punong Barangay Romeo Reyes.
