CALLING ALL SOLO PARENTS OF BUGASONG!

Today, we took another important step toward strengthening the support and protection of solo parents in our municipality.

We have finalized the draft of the Internal Rules and Procedures for the Implementation of the Solo Parent Welfare and Protection of Bugasong, Antique, pursuant to Republic Act No. 11861, the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act.

These Rules provide clear procedures for solo parent registration and issuance of the Solo Parent Identification Card (S**C), availment of benefits and privileges, assessment and means-testing, grievance and complaint handling, monitoring, reporting, and accountability in the implementation of the ordinance

But our work does not end with legislation.

We also want to build a strong and organized community of solo parents who can support one another, be informed of their rights and benefits, and participate in programs intended for their welfare and that of their children.

LGU Bugasong Brings Government Services Closer to Brgy. Yapu

As part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Month, the Local Government Unit of Bugasong brought essential government services closer to the residents of Brgy. Yapu.

The activity brought together various LGU offices and personnel to deliver government programs and services directly to the people. It served as a meaningful expression of public service, bringing government closer to the communities it serves.

The outreach was made even more meaningful through a gift-giving activity and feeding program, bringing smiles and a little extra warmth to the children and families of Yapu.

The initiative embodies the spirit of the Civil Service Month celebration: a responsive, compassionate, and people-centered civil service that goes beyond the office and reaches every community.

The recent shooting incident in a school in Tacloban City and another stabbing incident in General Trias, Cavite, are a sobering warning that unaddressed bullying can spiral into irreversible acts of violence. We have crafted a locally-rooted response to protect students within the municipality and to provide early intervention before things escalate.

Our children deserve to go to school without fear. They deserve to learn, to play, to dream - safely.
