Results of the newly concluded Layag Painting contest, participated by our learners representing seven (7) coastal barangays in the municipality, showcasing their talent and artistry for sailing, in celebration of 63rd FishCon Week today, Oct. 23.

Congratulations, to all participants, teachers, Jeane V. Nietes, Aquaculturist, Jehro Labrador, and the rest of the personnel from the Municipal Agriculturist Office (MAO), headed by Freddie Vista for a successful event.

Following the layag painting contest, sails were attached to boats' mast for another layag contest by the sea with the assistance of Phil. Coast Guard Bugasong Sub Station.

: As this week’s showcase barangay following Sabang West, in the Municipality of Bugasong, for the Department of the Interior and Local Government's (DILG) KALINISAN (Kalinisan at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program Regional Showcase Barangay for the Weekly Kalinisan-Barkada Cleanup Activity, Zaragoza gathered multi-sectoral members of the community to keep the community clean and protect the marine ecosystem on this rainy morning today, Oct. 22.

As the program began, Hon. Cecile R. Sadje, Punong Barangay, welcomed everyone to Brgy. Zaragoza and thanked DILG Antique and LGU Bugasong for their support.

In his message, Mayor Victor R. Condez lauded the marine protection by maintaining clean seascapes, as well as compliance with solid waste management, as the wastes we produce, if mismanaged, will affect the bountiful harvest and safety of Bugasongnons.

Also present were DILG Antique’s Mary Antoinette B. Sazon, LGOO II, who presented the overview of the KALINISAN Program; Jessana Carmela L. Tatoy, MLGOO/LGOO VI; and John Clint C. Arsenio, LGOO V; PCPT ALFONSO C PRECIA; SFO3 RYAN VIC V JABILE; LTJG SHEENA MAE C GOMEZ as represented by SN1 Jerik Mark P Bosque of PCG; Jennifer Rose A. Tatoy, MENRO Designate; Freddie P. Vista, Mun. Agriculturist; Jeanne V. Nietes, Mun. Aquaculturist; and Josepth D. Acuña, Chairperson, MFARMC.

As for the finale, everyone was requested to stand to recite the pledge of commitment, led by Brgy. Kgwd. Danilo Z. Acuña, followed by the signing of the pledge of commitment to the KALINISAN (Kalinisan at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program.

In attendance were municipal employees; barangay and sk officials; personnel from PNP, PCG, and BFP; faculty and students from Saint Joseph Academy, Inc.; fisherfolk association; and members of Guardians Delta Force International (GDFI).

The Bugasong Municipal Police Station (MPS) etched the 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗣𝗚𝗦) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 – 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 for its outstanding commitment and unwavering support in the effective implementation of PNP Patrol Plan 2030 for the attainment of a “𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚” today, October 21, at the Antique Police Provincial Office, San Jose, Antique.

PCPT ALFONSO C PRECIA, OIC-Bugasong MPS, received the award, along with Ms. Jessa Joy C. Pon-an, Clerk IV from LGU Bugasong.

This award is the result of the Antique Police Provincial Office Proficiency Evaluation Process (ANPPO-PEP) conducted by the PRO6 PEP Unit Revalida Team, with panelists from members of the Municipal Advisory Group (MAG), namely Chairman/SB Member Marvin R. Rico, Co-Chairman/SKMF Pres. John Alrich Vincent V. Magaro, Secretariat/MIO Richard T. Francisco, and Pastor Louie Sablada at Vista Veranda, San Jose, Antique, on September 3.

Vice Mayor Susan V. Escote also graced the said PEP-Unit Revalida.

𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐂 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Municipal Government of Bugasong held its joint Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MPOC & MADAC) 4th Quarter Meeting at the Conference Room on Tuesday, October 20.

Presided over by Mayor Victor R. Condez, the meeting focused on efforts to prepare the municipality for Super El Niño this quarter until midyear 2027, peacekeeping and anti-drug abuse programs and activities and their budgetary allocation, and participation of partner agencies such as PNP, BFP, PCG, Liga nga Barangay, academe, youth, civil society organizations (CSOs), and private entities.

Likewise, PCPT ALFONSO C PRECIA, OIC-Bugasong MPS, reported the crime statistics of the municipality covering the 2nd Quarter vs. 3rd Quarter, while SFO3 RYAN V JABILE, Acting Fire Marshall, presented the activities conducted by their station and requested personnel augmentation.

Also present were MLGOO Jessana Carmela L. Tatoy and SB Members Greg R. Togonon and Marvin R. Rico.

𝗕𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The municipality of Bugasong, along with Tibiao and Caluya, was named Best Local Government Unit (LGU) for exemplary performance in the compilation of the 2023–2025 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Dissemination Forum held in San Jose, Antique, on October 13.

The award mirrors the contribution of the three (3) LGUs' timely submission of reliable data to the successful measurement and monitoring of Antique's economic performance through its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as presented by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

This accolade also serves as a testament to Bugasong’s commitment to public service and data integrity, in support of Antique’s overall economic performance.

In 2023-2025, Bugasong was led by former Mayor, now Secretary to the Sanggunian, John Lloyd M. Pacete, and former Acting Mayor, now serving as Vice Mayor, Susan V. Escote.
