BULA, CAMARINES SUR โ€“ August 20, 2026 In a determined push to strengthen gender mainstreaming across its offices, the Local Government Unit of Bula conducted the Basic GAD Orientation and Gender Sensitivity Training (GST++) on August 18โ€“19, 2026, held at the Peopleโ€™s Training Hall within the BUB Building, Bula Municipal Compound.

The activity forms a core part of the LGUโ€™s capacity development initiatives under its gender agenda. The event was actively participated in by 63 participants composed of permanent, contract of service and job order personnel, representatives from different National Government Agencies, and LGU Scholars who are rendering their return of service in the municipality.

The sessions were facilitated entirely by members of the GAD Focal Point System-Technical Working Group (GFPS-TWG), who themselves underwent specialized training of trainers to conduct Gender Sensitivity Trainings. Each member took the lead in delivering assigned topics, ensuring a smooth flow of discussions consistent with the core messages with depth and rekllevance of information shared. The participatory approach encouraged open dialogue, reflection, and the exchange of insights among the participants during the 2-day training.

By the conclusion of the training, 62 out of 63 participants successfully completed the full two-day course, marking a significant milestone in the LGUโ€™s journey toward gender-responsive governance. Certificates of participation were awarded to those who completed the sessions and learning activities.

The LGU Bula expressed its commitment to continuing such capacity-building efforts, emphasizing that this training is a part of the continuing and sustained commitment to institutionalize gender equality, empowerment, and inclusion across all municipal programs, projects, and services.

The Local Government Unit of Bula proudly held its 1st Dangรณg Bituon on July 27, 2026, 9:00 a.m. at the Peopleโ€™s Training Hall. The event was organized to honor the outstanding academic accomplishments of the first cohort of scholars who successfully completed their studies under the LGU Scholarship Program.

This meaningful occasion stands as the municipalityโ€™s tribute to the scholarsโ€™ unwavering perseverance, conscientious diligence, and steadfast commitment to excellence throughout their education. Their success serves as a living testament to how the LGUโ€™s continued support and dedication in providing accessible and quality education can turn aspirations into reality.

โ€œโ€ฆFour years ago, we came here as scholars with dreams. Today, we return as graduates with fulfilled promises. And tomorrow, may we become Bulaeรฑos who give others a reason to dream too,โ€ shared graduate scholar Mr. Justin S. Sabularse in his remarks.

In turn, the scholar graduates expressed their deepest gratitude to the LGU Bula Scholarship Program and all who made this opportunity possible, particularly Municipal Mayor Hon. Manuel A. Ibasco, Jr., Committee on Education Chair Hon. Glenda B. Espiritu, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Dr. Mary Ruth V. Parro, as well as the members of the Scholarship Board and its Secretariat.

The event was graced by LGU Bula officials led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Manuel A. Ibasco, Jr., Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Nellie P. Largo, the SB Chair on Committee on Education, Hon. Glenda Espiritu, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Dr. Mary Ruth V. Parro, DepEd Bula District representative Ms. Marlene V. Braza, alongside the distinguished graduate scholars themselves.

This marks a truly historic moment: the very first batch of our scholars comes home to the LGU not as hopeful beneficiaries, but as accomplished graduates ready to serve. As part of their LGU Bula Scholars journey, they will now embark on a one-year return of service to give back to the community that invested in their future.
