π‡π€πππ„ππˆππ† ππŽπ–: Various Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families gathered today at Robinsons, Butuan for the 2026 OWWA Migrant Workers' Day celebration, an opportunity of government agencies committed to providing programs and services that support the welfare, reintegration, and long-term success of migrant workers.

Through the event, OFWs gained access to various government initiatives designed to help them build sustainable livelihoods and pursue new opportunities upon returning home.

Among these was the Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (IFWD PH) program of Department of Science and Technology (DOST), which introduced participants to technology-based entrepreneurship opportunities, innovation-driven livelihood options, business development support, and other science, technology, and innovation solutions.

By bringing government services closer to OFWs and their families, the celebration served as an avenue for empowering migrant workers with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities needed to transform their aspirations into sustainable ventures and productive futures.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caraga participated in the 2026 Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) National Reintegration Network event held at Robinsons Place Butuan on June 3, 2026.

As part of the event, DOST Caraga, through Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly Abroad from the Philippines (iFWD PH) was invited to speak and share information on the services available to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

DOST Caraga also set up an information booth where participants were able to learn more about the agency’s programs and services. The booth served as a venue for OFWs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to inquire about available assistance, seek consultations, and explore opportunities for business development through science, technology, and innovation.

The event gathered government agencies and partner organizations committed to supporting the successful reintegration of OFWs. Through its participation, DOST Caraga reaffirmed its commitment to empowering returning migrant workers by providing access to technology-based solutions, entrepreneurial opportunities, and innovation-driven programs that contribute to sustainable livelihoods and economic growth.
