The project provides ๐จ๐ง๐ (๐) ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ฅ๐, ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ (๐) ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐
๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ฌ, and ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ (๐) ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ก๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฌ to support the farming and post-production activities of FDAIโs partner Peopleโs Organizations (POs).
Through the project, farmer-users will have improved access to farm machinery while helping reduce the costs associated with production and post-production activities. Farmers will only shoulder the necessary expenses for fuel and maintenance, a minimal contribution to the POโs savings, and the operatorโs fee, making the equipment more accessible and sustainable for community use.
The turnover was warmly welcomed by ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก๐จ๐ซ ๐. ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, Board of Trustee Secretary of FDAI. Executive Director ๐๐๐ฑ ๐. ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐จ emphasized the organizationโs commitment to sustaining farming communities and encouraging the younger generation to pursue agriculture as a viable and meaningful livelihood.
Also gracing the activity was Sir ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐จ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ณ, Chief of the Agricultural Program Coordinating Office of Agusan del Sur (APCO-ADS), who expressed his hope that the provision of the farm machinery would contribute to improving farmersโ productivity and support their day-to-day farming activities.
๐๐ฌ. ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐จ๐, Regional Organic Agriculture Focal Person, likewise attended the turnover and expressed her hope that the project would help reduce farmersโ production costs by providing them with greater access to appropriate farm machinery and equipment.
๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ. ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐จ, Pre & Post-Harvest Facilities and Equipment (PPHF) Coordinator of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Prosperidad, also attended the turnover activity. The program concluded with closing remarks from Sir ๐๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ , FDAI Trustee.
The ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ (๐๐๐๐) is one of the flagship interventions of the National Organic Agriculture Program aimed at strengthening organic farmersโ organizations through the provision of appropriate facilities, machinery, equipment, and other support services. Through these interventions, the program seeks to enhance farm productivity, improve access to agricultural technologies, and contribute to the development of a more resilient and sustainable organic agriculture sector.
The turnover of the OALP project marks another step toward strengthening farmer organizations and providing communities with the tools they need to improve agricultural production. Through continued collaboration among government agencies, partner organizations, and farmers, the Department of Agriculture remains committed to advancing organic agriculture, reducing production constraints, and building sustainable and resilient farming communities in Agusan del Sur.
