𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒖𝒃𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒚 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅!

From October 12–15 and October 19–22, 2026, subdivision surveys were successfully conducted in different barangays across Buug, covering a total area of 52.00971 hectares involving 48 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).

This Contract Survey, funded under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project, was undertaken by Engr. Windel James Pedregosa, together with his active survey team, with the active participation and assistance of the DARMO-Buug Personnel.

Fieldwork is never without challenges. Along the way, there were concerns, misunderstandings, and differences among some of the ARBs. There were also days when the weather was not on our side. Despite these circumstances, the team remained patient, professional, and focused on the work and responsibilities entrusted to us.

Through rain, heat, challenging terrain, and unexpected situations in the field, we continue to uphold the mission and vision of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)—to serve our Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and contribute to the successful implementation of agrarian reform.

Another productive accomplishment made possible through teamwork, patience, dedication, and commitment to public service.

𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝑬𝑺, 𝑮𝑨𝑫, 𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒊-𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆

Thirty (30) farmers from Barangay Labrador in Buug town recently attended a training on Agri Extension Services (AES) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Farmer-members of Labrador-Timualag-Katurog Irrigators’ Association (LATIMKA IA) were provided with a training on October 6, 2026 that equipped them with modern farming techniques and skills through the Program Beneficiaries Development Division and in coordination with DAR-Buug.

AES Focal Person Jennie Bance said that the intervention aims to boost rural development by providing appropriate agricultural technologies to farmers, agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and ARB organizations to ensure better farm productivity and crop yields.

DAR national awardee Cesario Cielo, an ARB from Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, served as the resource person in the said learning intervention. Being a farm owner, Mr. Cielo imparted his specialized knowledge and insights on modern farm technologies and shared best farming practices for the participants to draw lessons from.

Buug agrarian reform chief John Lloyd P. Cababat underscored the importance of the activity to the farmers. “DAR is not only up to the distribution of land titles to to the beneficiaries,” he said. “DAR is doing its best to help uplift the lives of the ARBs by helping them increase their income and develop the ARB organizations,” he explained.

Aside from AES, the participants were also empowered through awareness on gender and development and agricultural insurance. The activity highlights the continued commitment of DAR to mainstream gender responsiveness and agri-insurance in rural development.
